Anyone hear of B*R*E*T*T *M*A*T*T*E*W*S Photography????? any pricing info you can give me?? I am obssesed with their photos!!

they were one of the 4 photogs we looked at and we did not like them at all. they were overpriced and the people were rude.
i'm glad we didn't go with them because there were a lot of bad reviews on here about them...

I looked at them as well as a bunch of others...here's why I didn't care for them: - they are much more expensive than any of the other studios. - you meet with a sales person NOT your potential photographer - no flexibility/customization with the options, meaning that we are choosing not to do albums b/c we can save a ton of money and do it ourselves later and eliminating the albums was not an option with them - the salesperson we met with spoke about things that didn't put him and ultimately the studio in the best light (talking about how the sales person does drugs, etc...)

crazy that you just said that about drugs. we first met with a man who seemed brand new and couldn't answer any of our questions. so he then brought in a woman who right off the bat said how she just found out she was pregnant and was so freaked out she chain smoked 3 cigs! that beyond rubbed me the wrong way. FH and I still talk about that and how pissed that made me...

i love thier pictures and they do a great job-i've seen some of the pics they've done for friends however, they were way out of our price range and nothing was included so it would basically be a lot of a la carte HTH

We went to see them and loved their work, but we didnt book them for a few reasons. 1. They said that they will never negotiate their price. They were the only vendor we came across who said that. 2. They dont tell you who the photographer is. 3. I cant justify spending 4000 more than other photographers. 4. I belive the package was 8,200.

both of my FBILs booked them... one about 13½ years ago, the other about 3½ years ago both sets of pictures came out AMAZING! I agree they are pricey... we didn't even sit with them because we heard they were so expensive.
also one of my FBIL's SIL used them as well and none of them had a problem.
the only thing i could think of was for the first wedding (13½ years ago) the photographer was late to FSILs house and she was already made up, so they 'faked' her getting her veil on. but w/e it wasn't the photogs fault, there was a really bad accident and she got stuck in traffic, and she called to let them know. skip ahead 9 years to other fbil getting married... fsil looks over at the photog and says 'hey, you were my photographer 9 years ago'... the photographer remembered the wedding and everything.. when fsil mentioned her being late the photog replied 'let me make it up to you, are those your sons?'
she did a FREE photoshoot for the boys...
now honestly, I think thats AMAZING customer service!

Thanks for all the reviews, I loved there work but I just cant justify to FH spending 8200 on them! Photog is sooooo important to me though...maybe going to check out sherwood triart..

I met with both those people. the new guy who also talked to me about his friends smoking pot and some woman who is above him who is pregnant. Too funny. Total turn off.

I met with them and love the sales person and photos but they were ot of our price range. Went two weeks ago I was quoted $4,600 for:
-2 photogs and lighting asst. -an engagement shot -print proofs -low-res internet proofs -2 larger sized prints framed -1 album -a baby session valid for five years after the wedding (ha!)
The price was not neg. so we had our hands tied.

I do think they do amazing work, but they are super, super pricey!!! When I went they started at 5k and that included very, very little.
You should check out Thomas Paul. He has a similar style and his photography is amazing as well. Plus, you get a lot for a lot less as well.

You have to buy the baby pics. I think they give you two photographs and you then have to pay per picture. The 8200 was with video.

I'm using BM and while they are a bit expensive I think they are fairly comparable to the other photogs I looked at. I absolutely love their photos and we were able to negotiate a lot of things in our contract. I have also recommended two of my friends to BM and they will be using them for their weddings as well.
We booked with Rich who unfortunately is no longer there and I haven't met any of the new people, so I'm hoping there are no issues along the way, but so far they have been great and I absolutely love our epics.

I met with Rich and absolutely loved him and the examples that he showed me of their work. Out of Duet, BM, and Matthew Sowa I absolutely had the best experience at BM. They are pricey but their pictures truly are GORGEOUS and they have so many options for different printing methods. Sorry to hear Rich isn't working there any more. He was great.
The reason why we booked with Matthew Sowa instead of BM is you do not have the rights to your files after the wedding so you're not able to make albums or prints through anyone else. All printing MUST be done by them. I believe after a few years you can buy your files from them for a couple hundred dollars.

I booked BM and couldn't be happier. My sales consultant Seth was AWESOME. He was very easy to work with given the distance (I'm planning my wedding from LA). Seth didn't try to oversell and he very much understood my vision and what I was looking for.
I think the pricing was very resonable as well. My total package is still under 6k.

I recently spoke w/ Seth who seemed very helpful and informative. i was given the same price information but, and i could have been misheard, i think he said you can upgrade to get all of your digital proofs for $750.
also, he said you get to come and meet with the photographers before the wedding. this way you can see their work and personality.
i really like their work and they are familiar with my site so im sort of in the middle.
