Has anyone had any experience with B rett M atthews Photography in Roslyn Heights?

About 150. I guess that comes out to $1pp. You're right, I probably don't have to tip him.

I saw their work at an open house I went to at my reception hall and their work looked very nice. The only thing I didn't like was when I asked about approx. cost the woman working the display said "all of our package start at $5,000." When I asked if there were cheaper packages she said "It wouldn't pay for us to send one of our photographers for less than that." I was non-responsive and walked away. Too rich for my taste.

Thanks Rachel -- I had no idea that their work was so expensive. That is also way over our budget. For that amount they better be giving me a gold album!

Their work did look good, and we did end up going over our budget for photography, but her attitude was not necessary. Maybe I wasn't wearing the right outfit for her or something, but definitely uncalled for. I wouldn't hold my breath for a gold album, but those pics, no matter who you decide to go with are going to be your only golden memories, so choose wisely and be sure you are comfortable with your photographer and the studio. GOOD LUCK!!

I actually called B rett M atthews and they told me that their packages start at $3,000 for weddings. They were booked for my day so it really doesn't matter anyway. An acquaintance of mine used them for his daughter's wedding. I've never seen these pictures or anything but he said they were wonderful. I'm seeing Patken and Cassarino this weekend and have already seen Gray, all of whom I've heard good things about on this board. Who are you using?

I am using Jo Von, which is expensive, but I didn't get the negative repsonse that I got from B rett M atthews from them. They have been extremely helpful in my planning. I worked with Fred who spent hours with us explaining every detail and I chose John H. as our photographer.

I do often get a nice thank you card from the bride and groom which is greatly appreciated and hung on my wall so if you liked the service that is a nice gesture to make.

Do they charge for travel expenses or number of locations on the wedding day? One more question is the engagement shooting included in the packages?

Stick to your guns,although it is very hard to do, esp with an elderly dissenter. Tell her(both of u do this) that you are sorry she feels this way, you had hoped everyone would share in the first day of your lives together as husb and wife. and then move on and dont address it. Someone else I know did this. IT WAS HARD..but grams showed up to the ceremony!
