Brett Matthews Photogrophy?

So me and the FH are shopping around for a photogropher now and a couple ppl mentioned ************** to me. I looked at the website and the pics are absolutely gorgeous but they look super pricy. I was wondering if anyone has ever used them or know anyone who has. Are they really expensive?

Their photographs are magnificent but like you guessed they are super expensive and you don't get a lot in their basic package (no parent albums & you have to wait 5 years to get your High-Res DVD of the pictures). FH and I absolutely LOVED their work but unfortunately we just couldn't justify the price.

Would you mind explaining this 5 year wait period to me?

TIA!

Basically it means you get your proofs as hard copy prints, no DVD with the original files. They hold the original files so that if you need more (large) prints you have to go through them. It makes them more money and keeps quality control with them. After five years I guess they figure you won't be ordering anything else and they release the files; not sure if you need to pay for them or if they just turn them over.

Despite all that, I'm booked with *************. I think their photos are amazing. Yes, they're expensive, but their style is what I was looking for. They're not perfect, but I don't think most vendors are. I took the tradeoff of price and digital files to get the photos I want in the first place. The way I looked at it, you can never recreate those pics and I wanted to get it right the first time.

That's so exciting that you went with them. If they were in our price range we definitely would have booked them as well.

I didn't book w/him because of the 5 year wait period. RIDICULOUS!!! I got a fabulous photographer who I thought I was even better and didn't have to compromise anything.

A 5 year wait that is ridiculous.
Just as an F.Y.I... I don't understand what the allure is with this photographer. I went to a wedding, and they made a complete spectale of themselves during the reception...they were all over the place sooo annoying and obvious in there picture taking.. My brother in law was in small claims court a few months back, and they were being sued!!! I personally think you should shop around. There is much more talent to be discovered out there.
