Bridal Attendant question HELP

Bridal Attendant question HELP

My bm told me that I have to tip the bridal attendant $125. ok fine but the problem im having is that i wont even see her. Were taking pictures after the ceremony (at a church) at old westbury gardens & then going to woodbury. We wont finish old westbury until 1:30pm and my reception starts at 2pm. Exactly when will i see this girl or need her for? The bm said she only helps in the very beginning so its not like shes even with me for the reception. What would you do?

Honestly, if she isn't doing anything for me, I would not tip her that much. She'll be paid by the venue for her work that day. If you feel obligated to tip something, maybe $50 then, but I don't quite understand your mom's logic to pay her when she's already being paid.

If your mom wants to pony up the money and it means a lot to her to have this woman tipped over $100, though, then it would be up to your mom. I can see where you're coming from and how that makes you feel strange about it.

ETA: I read your original post wrong and thought you said your mom had said you had to tip that amount, not your bm -- sorry about the confusion!

I guess it depends on the place but you would be surprised how much your bridal attendant may help you. At my friends wedding her bridal attendant was at her side ALL night. (but not like in her face too much ya know) Her and her husband never had to ask for a drink, she was always there fixing her dress, when her bustle came down she sewed it back up. It was actually pretty impressive. And she was pretty much the same with the entire bridal party....we saw her more then we saw the matre'd. OH and she made sure everything was all packed up and and ready to go at the end of the night. I would wait till the day of, of course, to see how the service is and then go from there. I am budgeting around 100 for the Bridal attendant.

It depends upon the venue.
My bridal attendant was with me just about the entire time I was at the RH. We had our ceremony there and took pics there as well. She unpacked my stuff, helped me get dressed, shadowed the photog during pics. Before the ceremony when I asked for a cup of coffee, she draped me in a tablecloth so I wouldn't spill, made me eat a little something too
I could go on and on about what Monica did for me.
If your bridal attendant does nothing, then a little gratuity is fine. If she does a lot for you, then a larger gratuity is much appreciated.

My Bridal Attendant at Leonard's was my savior!
She was SO FREAKIN awesome.. You will be surprised how much you need them..and i gave her a little bit extra than the $100 bucks they recommended...

Have the cash with you- and feel her out.. that's what i did..
I had all the tips ready in envelopes when i got to the reception..

My bridal attendant was at my side the entire time, from the moment I walked in until I Ieft. She was the one making sure I had food and drinks. She pinned my dress for me and packaged up everything at the end of the night. I gave mine quite a bit more than the recommended but with out her the night would not have been as smooth.

Thanks ladies! I think i will do that bring the cash and see how much help she is. If shes with me all night like yours was then i will tip her the $125. But if not then i wont. THANKS AGAIN!

I guess it depends on how long you're there and how much you use her/him. The ceremony and reception are all taking place at the RH, so I suppose my bridal attendant will come in handy more often than yours will.
