bridal consultants

how much do you think they make? I'm hating my job SO much...that I'm considering looking into being a bridal consultant to at least be around something I can enjoy. I need a change, badly.

I'm a creative type though I need to be around fashion or anything that takes creativity and imagination. hmmm I have management exp so maybe I could be a bridal shop mgr.

i dont know how much they make but if you hate retail ...i dont know how much more you are gonna like bridezillas lol. It wouldnt hurt to go to a bridal shop, see if they are hiring and see what they offer....

lol I thought about that after I posted ...but then again I feel like I would get enjoyment out of being able to help girls during their 'special, special day'. I dunno...I'm so undecided on what my next career move will be ...the only thing I'm settled on is leaving my current job.

I can deal with retail...but the crazy mall hours esp during holidays and being a store manager and having all that responsibility and dealing with incompetent assistants and sales associates and having to pick up all the slack...its taking its toll on me.

There is a trade magazine called Biz Bash. You can also find it online at bizbash.com Click on the NY section and go to the job boards. This is where they will usually post jobs for what you are looking for. Good luck!!

i worked at the bridal shop in the Macy's in Manhasset...and if you're going to work as a bridal consultant...i STRONGLY suggest you do NOT work for Macy's...they have a rule that you're not allowed to be excited for the bride or show emotion...one of the many reasons why i quit...the pay isn't that great either...you're mostly living on commission...and some of the brides were mean but that wasn't a big deal to me because i understood where they were coming from

try a place like Priscilla of Boston...it seems like a really nice place to work

Would you want to be a wedd planner? I think they make a good living. You could work at Klenfleds, bec I think they work on commiss, I believe alot of wedding salons do.

I wonder how much a BM makes that works at a hall. I would love to work at a hall (my hall) and make every couple happy and see weddings galore.
