BRIDAL COUTURE OF MANHASSET... Word on the street...

hi all,

so BC is referring all brides to iman couture in brookville. i personally have a $250 cap on my alterations (and was told a few days ago by someone in the shop that that cap would be honored). HOWEVER, word on the street is that IMAN PLANS TO CHARGE $500 FOR ALTERATIONS!!!!!!!

now, BC is also being so kind as to (please note: sarcasm) give us another option to iman's shop: go to the formal BC's head seamstress' home to have alterations done there.

personally, i don't feel right about having my dress hang out in some lady's home for a few months...

is anyone else out there in my position, too?!?!? please comment.

Can your designer refer you to any seamstresses?

I have no idea when I'm getting my dress, but I think I'll probably try to find a seamstress on my own.

Take it for what it's worth, but I've heard NOTHING but horrible reviews on Iman Bridal Couture. I would be very hesitant to trust them with my wedding gown, let alone alterations.

This is a nightmare. I just go my veil from BCM and is not what I ordered. The veil is so stiff and I've been told by them that there is only one type of tulle.... are you kidding me??

i know.

honestly, i heard that the owner amassed a whole bunch of deposits and then closed up her shop.

i really do think that those of us who've been burnt by this woman should get together and report her.

is there anyone else out there who would be willing to join me? if so, let me know.

I had my mothers dress altered by a woman who works out of her home. I had no problem. she did excellent work and was reasonably priced. FM if you want her information.

honestly, though - IMO that's not the pt anymore. i paid for a service and have a contract for something that they aren't honoring... so we'll see what's gonna happen with this.

yeah i am also a BC bride that got screwed :(... I am actually looking else where for a dress. BC refuses to give me back my desposit. of course I am trying to take a legal action on that...but yeah they totally ruined the experience.. the whole fact of the C.O.D .. no thank you! and when i called iman to introduce myself she had no idea what i was talking about with bc..she said there was no agreement and that her alterations are 500 and depends on what i want to do.. nooo thank you... BC keeps switching there story..first i was told my dress is being shipped to me in 2 weeks.. then i got told its being made..they lied who the designer was..when i finally did call the designer they said they cant release any info.. Please i have no time for nonsense..... when i told bc this is turning into a nightmare..helen said to me 'oh hunny....your still getting your dress' ahhh no thank you lady.. i didnt pay 3500 for dress to come out of box from the UPS guy.. ahhh so frustrated..

but ive been looking for a new dress and i think i found one tonight..so excited

I didn't get my dress from BC but I have heard some disheartening things about Iman so I would recommend steering clear of that shop for your alterations. JMO

I know someone that had a very great experience with Iman. I also know someone that had a horrible experience with Wedding Salon to the point where they said she didn't make a payment so she overpaid her dress by $500!

im down to take some legal action ASAP!
i'm sick of this bullsh*t and i'm not going to be toyed around by some irresponsible a@@h*les.
i've had it up TO HERE with this company and if anyone wants to do something about it, FM me.
no one is going to take 7 thousand dollars of my money and walk away with it.

I ordered my dress from BC but thank God the designer has a showroom in nyc, so she will be taking care of me herself. Good luck!!
