Bridal Gift Registry vs. House Warming Gift Registry

Bridal Gift Registry vs. House Warming Gift Registry

So I rent an apt. with FH and will be looking to buy a house about approx. 8 months into our marriage. We want to do a Bridal Shower with a gift registry (not a honeymoon gift registry).

Naturally, when we buy our home, we will have a house warming party. Do you think that it is tacky to have a bridal shower gift registry where clearly I will have things for the home AND a house warming party where we will have a 'things for home' gift registry? If so, what other options do I have? Keep in mind that people coming to the house warming may not have been invited to the wedding (just because we are doing a smaller guest list).

FH's friends are in this situation. Just got married last year, had a bridal registry and then just bought a home and had a registry for the housewarming. We thought it was a little tacky, and also it's like we just bought you gifts last year and now you're asking for more gifts?!! I think just put things on your bridal registry that you will definitely want for your future home.

Remember, your registry is good for 1 year after your wedding. So people can buy you gifts off your registry for your housewarming party.
