So I'm not even close to going out and dress shopping. I plan on waiting until the fall, but I have been looking online to see what I like and I find myself getting compeltely lost! I need some direction.
My question to you is, who are the more popular wedding dress designers? My budget is going to be between 2-3k.
thanks ladies!

Re: Bridal gown
I am very petite and I had a small budget for my dress. I knew not everything looked good on my body type. Once you try on a few styles that you like, you can tell which looks good on you. Just because it looks good in the picture does not mean it will fit you the exact way. So definitely try on a few different styles to see which you like best.
I think you have budget that fits In well with a few designers. Check out Maggie sottero

Re: Bridal gown
maggie soterro had a ton - and they were closer to the $1500 price
i looked online too and drove myself crazy...bc then you find a dress but cant find a store that carries it etc. i would suggest just making an appt at a store and trying on a ton of dresses (cant hurt to tell the store itll be your first appt so that they dont rush you)

Re: Bridal gown
My dress is by Marisa and I think she has beautiful gowns! I was told her designs are geared more towards petite girls, so if you're small you may want to go that route!
Also, you can't really go by designers and what the dress looks like online or in magazines. I had my heart set on a Jim Hjelm dress and when I tried it on inperson, I didn't like it at all.

Re: Bridal gown
The Knot lets you look by styles. It pulls up tons of different designers based on the different styles. A-line, ball gown, satin, etc..
Theres a few other sites too.

Re: Bridal gown
it depends on your style but my favorite dresses were from Lazaro and Jim Hjelm (my dress )
they start around the 2-3k ranger and go upwards
you can check out the dresses by these two designers on www.jlmcouture.com

Maggie Sottero and Allure
get ideas online...but don't drive yourself crazy! It's so different from the picture and on you. You don't really know until you start trying them on.

Re: Bridal gown
Enzoani is my favorite, by far. But I worked in a salon in college and it was rare for a girl to pick out her dress from a magazine or the internet and actually buy that dress. Just try on a bunch of things and you will figure out what you like.

Re: Bridal gown
My dress is by James Clifford. Check out the site. It's Jim Hjelm other line that isn't sold in many stores at all.
thank you again all. Now what happens when you fall in love with a few designers and have to travel all over just to find their stuff:p
I'm sure that'll be my next venture in bridal gown shopping...stay tuned :p

Re: Bridal gown
Mine is Jim Hjelm, and I am OBSESSED with it. Get some bridal magazines and tear out pictures that catch your eye. Also, Kleinfeld has a big selection. Check out their website. Originally, I fell in love with some Jim Hjelm designs. I then won a gift certificate to Alfred Angelo and got a dress from them. Finally, I realized that the dress I had purchased was not the one for me. I FINALLY tried on some more dresses and bought the Jim Hjelm. Go with your gut. :)
