Is there such a thing? I found my dress, but my mother wants us to try and find it somewhere a bit cheaper. Are there any places that you can call and just flat out ask what they are willing to sell it for?? I really don't feel like going through the whole process of making and appt. and trying it on over and over again, just to find out what the bottom line is going to be?
TIA

Re: Bridal Gown Bargaining
We bargained on my dress. We would not pay the price on the tag (way over my budget) so we asked what is the best they can do. They called the designer and came back with a price that was about 15-20% off the price on the tag. No other shop in NY carries the designer so I did not call around to price it out. And most shops will not give you prices over the phone. Good luck!

Do you mind telling me where you got your dress? Maybe they carry the designer I am looking for. I alread went to BR in Carle Place and they are taking 10% off, but I'm hoping to find better.

We definitely bargained on my dress! Maybe if you get other things there they will knock off some $$. Good luck

Re: Bridal Gown Bargaining
I think the easiest way to bargain with dress prices is to find it cheaper somewhere else and tell other places to see if they can beat it.
Just make sure they are a reputable place and authorized dealer of your dress....

I agree. I told the 2nd place I went to how much the same dress cost someplace else (I even lowered the price a little more!) and they came back with a lower price as well. It doesn't hurt to try!!!

did ou try checking RKBridal. I think if they carry the dress and you have style number they will give you a price on the phone.

Re: Bridal Gown Bargaining
Knowing what my gown usually sells for I didn't bother trying to bargain on my gown, however I got a great bargain on my slip, tiara, veil and blusher as a result so I really made out like a bandit of sorts in the end.
btw this was at Lillette's in Baldwin.

Yes, negotiate!
Competing quotes are probably the best leverage, but there's no reason not to ask if the shop can do better even if you don't have quotes from other places.
You may also want to get quotes from online places such as NetBride or Pearl's Place, even if you don't want to buy from them.
