ok i am getting a little a little worried since it seems like most 08 brides have ordered their gowns already. I am getting married 4-26-08 & haven't even started looking yet., but plan to within the next few weeks. How long does it take? also, what is average cost ? not looking for anything too fancy. something simple with no train. looking a long straight dress with some work on it. Any suggestion on where & how to start shopping.. sorry i am bit clueless, but i had some personal family issues to deal with it.
thanks !

Don't stress out. Start by thinking of what type of dress you want and look at dresses online. You have time but I would prob start looking very soon!

You still have plenty of time. The only reason I ordered my dress when I found it is because it takes my dress 10 months to come in. Dresses usually take at least 4 months to come in. Depends on what you want. I only ordered my dress a couple weeks ago also. So don't worry.

You still have some time and please do not think that most 08ers have it done. I havent even started yet and I am sure there are plenty of other girls on here that are in the same boat as us! I will be making my next appt for next weekend though so I will be getting started but I dont plan on ordering for at least another 2-3 months anyway.

I tried on 7 dresses before I found THE one. Everyone's different though. You have time, and you know what you want. Good Luck!

plenty of time i am a march bride and picked my dress but haven't ordered it. kept delaying it .. doing it finally this sat since now i kinda have to.
try on everything and when you keep going back to the same style or the same dress then you know that is the one.

Re: Bridal Gown - Freaking out a little
You do have plenty of time...when I went shopping I thought I knew what I wanted..brought pics and everything. I let the attendant pick dresses out for me as well and chose one of hers. Turns out the dresses I thought I liked didn't flatter me as much as the dresses I would have NEVER picked. Try on evry style you can...you'd be surprised what you like.
Also, there were PLENTY of dresses under $1000. Tell the attendant your budgetand ask if the cap the alterations at a certain price
They told me it would take about 6 months to come in...but I hear alot of girls getting the dress in much earlier than what they say.
