Bridal Gown shopping????

Are there any places where you can just walk in and 'browse'??? Or must I make an appointment? And usually how far in advance do you need to make the appointment? Do they book up fast?

And what should I bring with me? Strapless bra? Shoes?

Re: Bridal Gown shopping????

You can walk into RK Bridal in Manhattan and browse (in fact, they don't take any appts).

If you want a Saturday appt, its probably best to make one a few weeks ahead but weekday appts are easy to get.

Most of the salons I went to provided me with a bra and shoes if I wanted them.

Re: Bridal Gown shopping????

I started at Davids Bridal, just b/c there are so many to try on, and you don't need an app't. They supplied the bra and slip also, I got many ideas there and what I did and did not like. Just be prepared to spend many hours there. I think I tried on 15 dresses. Good Luck!

Re: Bridal Gown shopping????

I've made appoitments (even on a SAt) that morning. For the most part places stay open till 8 or 9 during the week. If you are saying you just want to start looking they are GLAD to help you.

Re: Bridal Gown shopping????

I made appointments with all the salons I went to. Most were extremely helpful including:

Princess Bridals (where I bought my gown)
Bonaventure
Lillette's

I wore a strapless bra and on a couple of occassions brought a pair of heels with me, but you don't necessarily need them. Wear your hair up.
