bridal nightmares

My wedding isnt for another three months but I keep having this recurring dream (different everytime) where I'm caught off guard that its the day of the wedding and I'm extremely late and miss my own ceremony, my vendors don't show up, and I dont have money to pay the ones that do! This started a couple months ago as an occasional dream but now I'm having it every night and it keeps getting more and more drastic. I'm I totally alone with these? Whats wrong with me and how do I make this stop?

I get these from time to time. I'm a terrible sleeper. My advice is to try not to do anything wedding related right before bed. Give yourself an hour of downtime before you go to sleep so wedding thoughts and worries aren't so fresh in your head. THis goes for other stuff too. I used to do work (lesson planning and grading in my bedroom) and I had to stop. I would then have dreams I wasn't prepared for work!

Good luck!!

You're definitely not alone. I thought I had everything under control and was feeling very comfortable with what I had done and what was left to do... and then I had a nightmare about a month ago! It mostly involved the photographer not showing up and then everyone getting out of their nice clothes before we could find someone to take pictures.

I don't know why pictures are so important to me, but obviously they are!

I think any time you are nervous about something big, it's natural for your body to purge those nervous thoughts through nightmares. It certainly doesn't mean any of those things are going to go wrong! It just means you're a little anxious about it.

As you get closer, the nightmares should go away. The excitement will take over!!!

I have them too! Sometimes its that I forget to plan the rest of the wedding. Sometimes its that my dress/veil is messed up. Also weird dreams about the reception. It varies. It's completely normal! It's your brain's way of processing all the emotions that come with planning a wedding.

OMG i have these almost every night!! lol The night before last i had a dream that my wedding was at 11, at 10am i hadn't showered yet and i was running to go tanning for some reason! And the tanning bulb (i dont know why it was a bulb and not a bed) wasn't big enough to get all of me so i was moving around trying to get all of me! LOL

A few nights before that, my family was just sitting on the couch in pajama's, my hair wasn't done and the wedding was starting!!

The best of all are the dreams i had was: i am standing outside the doors all ready to walk down the isle and the music stops and no one opens the doors! LOL

I guess it's just on our minds so much, there are so many details and we want everything to be perfect! They aren't funny when you wake up but just rewriting them now, i am hysterical! lol

I've had them too- where I'm late and like doing my own makeup and rushing to get down the isle and everythings is a mess!! It's just a dream don't worry about it!

Just know that the day of everything is in your hands and you are in control!! Be organized have everything ready, and worst case scenario you send someone on an errand!

Best of luck!

Haha, haven't had any recently but when I first got engaged I kept having nightmares that it was the wedding day and I didn't have a dress to wear, or half of the stuff wasn't planned. One time it was I had no shoes to wear. I think it's totally normal, this stuff is stressful! Like someone else said, maybe try to avoid wedding related things before bed. I don't have much advice, but I've been there too!

I'm a year and a half away and I still have these nightmares every day. Don't stress over them too much. I've gotten to the point where now I can say, 'this is a dream' to myself and I realize it in my actual dream. Then I just have fun with whatever is happening!

I too have these nightmares...mostly that the photographer doesn't show up or that i'm late getting ready or the makeup artist/hair girl doesn't come.

basically it comes down to us feeling subconsciously overwhelmed with wedding planning! i hope this goes away soon!
