Bridal Party Accommodations

Bridal Party Accommodations

I'm having a large bridal party...there will most likely be 8 BM and 9 GM... do we have to pay for their accommodations for the weekend of the wedding??!! I know this is a nice gesture, but I will be sort of $$ for me. What do you guys think?

FH and I have both been in weddings where we've paid for our own accomodations...once we stayed in a hotel for 2 nights and we paid...not the couple.

It would be a very nice gesture for you to pay...but you're right, it would be expensive.

The decision is yours, but if it's just for one night, I don't think they'll be expecting you to pay.

I think it depends on what you want. If you want to have that together sort of feel why don't you try and have them stay all at one house (you know one for the boys and one for the girls)

I think (from the weddings I've been in) that they would think it's a nice gesture but they probably don't expect it so you'd be cool if you didn't.

That would be an EXTREMELY nice gesture, but I don't think you have to. I have been in a ton of weddings and always paid for the hotel. It would be nice, but you don't need to break the bank.

I don't think it is expected for the bride & groom to pay for accommodations....maybe you can get everyone a nice welcome basket and put them in their hotel rooms.

I would say it is not necessary for those who live in town - but it is really a nice gesture to pay for any bridal party member who comes from a long distance (upstate etc) or out of state - who really could not get home and would need the room.

I left it up to them... I invited them to Stand Up for me at my wedding and be a bridesmaid.. They should know that thats part of the gig... Especially if they said yes.. I have 6 BM and 7 GM.. 4 FG's and a RB... None of them have had too many problems finding accomadations or paying for their dresses.. good Luck!

Well I'd say that would be extremely generous of you.

Personally I've told them that they were on their own for the dress, travel and accommodations. I have a much smaller bridal party before I even gave them this news. They all were alright with that.

I didn't pay for their accomodations. But we did pay for dresses/tuxes as their gifts to alleviate cost. I also had my bm's room together to cut cost, since they weren't bringing dates. If you do have someone with financial constraints, you could offer to pay for the room as their gift, or offer them an alternative such as rooming with someone. It is a lot of money, but we figured we could cut somewhere in the tens of thousands we were spending to help alleviate costs for our loved ones.
