ok...i need help w. this. Fh and I want to dance to a song that's really meaningful to us but we don't want anyone to join us....this is a solo thing. I thought I could dance this right after the intro.
so question is: is it normal for the bp not to dance along w/ you during your first dance or should we dance the solo piece later on???

Re: bridal party dancing along in the first dance?
I think you could go either way - but I am having them join us - I have a feeling it could be the longest 4 minutes of our lives up there by ourselves.. I mean that not in a good way - I dont want everyone staring at us, and I am not the best slow dancer out there, I would want them all out there with us - about 1/2 way thru the song...

Re: bridal party dancing along in the first dance?
You can do whatever you want. I don't think I want my bo to dance along with me and fh for our first song. I am thinking about maybe doing our first song, and then maybe a second dance and have the bp join in and then invite other guests to join in...

Re: bridal party dancing along in the first dance?
I've met with quite a few djs and they all say it's your choice. They have couples who want to dance the first dance with just the two of them couple who ask the bridal party to join in and couples who ask everyone to join in. It's really personal preference and the dj or band will do whatever you ask for.

Re: bridal party dancing along in the first dance?
I left DJ up to FH to work on (lol) but I do have a couple of must have rules... one of them is dancing alone the first dance!
Along with dancing alone for the entire song during the father daughter dance... I don't care what anybody else has to say about it!
Those are my 2 favorite wedding moments when I'm a guest.. and they will likely be my 2 favoirtes as a bride... I can't wait!!
