Bridal Party gifts question-Is it wrong to give them a gift to use at the wedding?
i bought my girls some nice stuff to use for the wedding, but i have a friend of the family who told me that it was 'rude' b/c it wasnt really a gift, more like i am telling them to use it. what do you all think?

A lot of people do it but in my opinion, yes, it's wrong. To me, that's not a gift since they wouldn't have had to wear it/get it if they weren't in your wedding in the first place. JMO.

I am giving my BM's their jewelry. But i am also giving them other gifts
I think it is fine to give them whatever you want!

I don't think so... I got them a necklace for the wedding but I think it is re-wearable. Same with the pocketbook! I got them some other small stuff like a personalized compact and body products so not everything is wedding only. I got wedding jewelry for every wedding I have been in - thats 3 weddings.

I think it totally depends on what it is ...
If it's a purse or something, I say a nice idea since it means they don't have to go out an buy something else (since they are probably already paying for dress, shoes, hair, etc ...)
But I would also give a small token that is personal.

i bought them all necklaces to wear with the dresses, and i was also going to get them all gift certificates for manicures/pedicures. I was thinking of making a gift basket up with the necklaces, certificates, some bath and body work lotions and something else a little bit more personal (but i havent figured out what that is yet!)
