Did anyone ask there friends and family in any special way to be in there bridal party? I was looking for a cute idea that would not cost a lot of money. We have our date but still have not asked, fh wants to ask at e party but i don't want to do that, i rather on a one on one or by sending them something, i don't want to preasure anyone cause it can be expensive.

Re: Bridal party- how did you ask
I wanted to make it really special. Each member of our party is a long time friend or family. We knew we were having an eparty so I spent WEEKS creating an individual poem for each member. (So did FH) Then I put it on fancy paper and then into a frame. At the eparty I set up the frames on a special table with their place card in front of it. When our bp members arrived at the engagement party they had to pick up their frame along with the place card. It was very special. There were a lot of tears.

Re: Bridal party- how did you ask
I sent them a card that said 'will you be my bridesmaid' i bought it online; and I wrote how much it would mean to me etc...
My good friend just asked me to be her BM in the most creative way. She made a slide show and put it on a CD it was pictures of us from past to present and in the back ground it was playing 'thats what friends are for' and some messages in between and the last message was will you be my BM...it was sooo touching I loved it!! Your computer might have that program already installed.
Good Luck!

I did cards for each person we wanted to ask. I made them out of scrapbooking paper and cardstock. If you don't want to DIY the individual gowns and tuxes, you can find premade ones in the scrapbooking sections of most craft stores!

Re: Bridal party- how did you ask
I already knew who would be in my wedding before I even got engaged so when I was calling to tell my family and friends that FH popped the question, I just asked right then and there. To make it more special though, I am now planning a bridal party luncheon for my girls so that I can really honor them and give them updates and a plan of what to expect. For the luncheon, I plan to go all out and give them t-shirts, newsletters, and other cute stuff.

I bought them each a set of note paper in a pretty basket, with their name on it. On the front of the pad I wrote the 'Will you be my bridesmaid' poem, that i found on here. I also bought the cookies that ask the same question.
I have pictures in my album.

Re: Bridal party- how did you ask
I ordered chocolate from Hersheys.com and gave to each girl..
It was like picture below--but without towed. Pretty much just the slab on the bottom right, and then i had BRIDESMAID written on it but then hershey miniatures also were around the slab like a frame... I can't find it on website anymore? Bought it 2 years ago. All the girls loved it, and so did the family members that helped them eat it!
