I think you made the best choice. family is family and friends will have to accept that

i say you made the BEST decision. I did just the opposite for the exact same reasons. Peoples true colors come outduring these times. A real friend will understand no matter what! Good Luck making sense to you supposed MOH! I hope your girls make this painless and easy for you!

You totally made the right decision. It's your wedding and you are allowed to make all the decisions.

i think it's good you picked only family. your friends won't have any excuse to be upset because none of them were asked to be in your bridal party.

You made the right decision for family being in the BP over your friends. If they are your real friends, then they will accept that this is YOUR choice.

We did the same thing, our bridal party is just family. Besides the issue with choosing between friends, I feel that in 20 years from now these people will still be family, you never know with friends... (it's kind of sad, but true)

I did the same thing, only family and I'm ending up with 10 couples all together! It's siblings and closest cousins. I would hope that when your friends see that you picked only family that they won't get offended. If they are true friends then they'll still come to the wedding and have a blast! Also, maybe you can include her in the ceremony so she feels a bit more a part of the celebration (if you're really close).

include her in the ceremony? like a reading?

I feel like if I try to suggest that, they would be even more annoyed.... like ' i'm not good enough to be in the BP but i'm good enough to do a reading' type of reasoning...

Also..

They asked me to be in their bridal parties.. that one friend picked me to be her MOH....

Is it customary to return the favor? Is it rude if I don't ask them to be in my BP after they asked me to be in theirs?

We just don't want them included... their personalities suck.. and we want to keep the bp small and family only....

Thanks ladies

We did the same thing...family only. That leaves all the drama behind and no one's feelings are hurt. I think you made the best decision.
