We're having 10 people over + us & I'm busy baking & cooking. I need ideas though. I've already made: sausage bread, Frito pie and then a banana cake for dessert (& my SIL is making a number of desserts--choc. covered pretzels, brownies, choc. chip cookies), yet I feel like I should have something else. We're also doing veggies w/ dip & chips & such, but what else could we do that is relatively fast to make? And maybe NOT meat-related.
Thanks!

wow- that's a lot of dessert...and what, may I ask, is a Frito pie?
what about pita bread with hummus, bruschetta with garlic toasts, a cheese board with a hard, soft, and semi-soft cheese, plus some fruit.
I think you are good with sweet stuff...I am addicted to it and just reading your post gave me a bellyache (the kind you got when you were 8 and gluttoned yourself at a friends party on cake, chips, soda, ice cream, and m7m's!)
it all sounds great though- ym brownies and chocolate covered pretzels! wow!

I was going to suggest hummus with pita also. Or how about an antipasto (sp?) spread - roasted red pepper, fresh mozzerella, prosciutto.

I always love Brushetta..I get it from the deli and then buy the brushetta toast..easy and always a crowd pleaser...but sounds like you have so much. I also make stomboli which is easy and delish. have fun!!

How about a pasta salad? I usually make one with tri-colored pasta (rotini), cut up pepperoni, green and black olives, cheddar cheese, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and Italian dressing. You can even make a simplier one with just bowties, mozzarella tomatoes and olives. there are so many things you can do with a couple boxes of pasts and some italian dressing!

Thanks ladies. I ended up just buying cheese/crackers and some queso dip/salsa for tortilla chips. I also bought some fruit to dip in my fluff/whipped cream dip.
Thanks so much for your help.
BTW, frito pie= fritos on the bottom, ground beef, chili beans and then cheddar cheese on the top. It's a staple in Texas & really good (if you forget the calories & fat). You can add sour cream if you want.
