Bridal Party Question

This is my situation....I really want to stay away from a large Bridal Party...Unfortunatley this seems to be impossible for me...once I count my female family members (sister and cousin), my FH sisters (2), & friends (4) I have about 8 girls - the problem is my FH is only asking 4 guys....what should I do...and is it rude not to ask my friends who asked me to be in there wedding party???

Re: Bridal Party Question

In choosing my bridal party, I always keep in mind that if I ask someone, I will not expect them to ask me in return (I am the first to get married of my college freinds). But you have to use your best judgement - think about who you really want, and who you would regret not having?
Of course, this is coming from someone who is procrastinating choosing which friends to ask!

Keep it small. I have been in too many large bridal parties, and it is always harder, the more people you have. JMO...

Re: Bridal Party Question

We're having 9 girls and 9 guys. I know some people are against large bridal parties, but FH and I agree, we don't want to cut people out just for the sake of having a smaller party. These people are our family and best friends, and our day just wouldn't be the same without as a special part of it.

We are having a large bridal party as well (10 couples, plus fg and rb) and thats not including us--but we are really excited about it b/c all the people we consider close to us will be part of our special day!

Re: Bridal Party Question

I am in almost the exact same situation. We decided that each of us should as who we want and if it is not even, we will work it out. I would hate not ask someone special to me because of numbers, or have people in the bridal party just because I wanted an even number.

We decided on 6 girls and 3 guys -- each guy will have two ladies to escort! It really is th most symmetrical, asymmetrical way to do it!

Good luck

Re: Bridal Party Question

Yes, that is what I think we are going to do as well....My nephew is the same age as his youngest sister (14) so he is going to add him in the bridal party...so that takes care of one...we are going to double up as well.

Thanks for all the help!!!

Re: Bridal Party Question

I was in a similar situation. I decided to ask all 8 girls, don't even know how many FI will end up asking. The way I figured it, its just one day, it was really not worth offending anyone. Friendships last a lifetime, and sometimes could be ruined over silly things, and I feel, one day, is just not worth it. That way everyone is happy - including myself cause I don't have the headache.

Re: Bridal Party Question

I agree. If you want a smaller bridal party, I'm sure your friends would understand if you told them you wanted to keep it small and so were only using family. However, if having your friends in the party is important to you, then you can just double up the guys. :o)
