Bridal Party Question!! (lil long)

My brother dated a girl for about 6 years and they brokke up about 7 years ago. i became very good friends with her and he was ok with it. i even lived with her for 2 years. we still keep in touch and are very close.
i asked my brother and his new gf of 6 years if they would mind if i asked her to be in the party and they reacted with 'well its your wedding' and 'well if thats what you want'
should i not ask her because of my brother and his gf or should i realize that this is MY wedding not theirs and do what I want?

Its your wedding and they have been broken up for so long and obviously moved on!

It is your wedding. If you are friends, and you want her in the bp...then so be it. Your brother and his girl friend should understand. It might be akward, and if your brother is also in the bp, then you might want to make sure they dont walk down the aisle together...aside from that, I think it's up to you!!!

its not so much my brother that im worried about, its his gf. she's younger (23) and doesnt like this girl that much. FH tells me i shouldnt care cuz its my wedding
