Original post by Meg Shea

Do you guys think its okay to not have a bridal party table at the reception and just scatter everyone? Has anyone been to a wedding where they did this?

I didn't think they did the whole bridal party table thing anymore. I can't stand this...I would prefer they sit with their families, dates, etc...

Let me clarify, I am seating the bridal party and their dates together at 2 tables (10 ppl per table) so everyone gets to sit with their date.

ummm...Ok... I was just answering the first post. Sorry.

I was just clarifying my post. What's with the attitude?

ahhh...gotta love reading posts... Most times we're misunderstood! I thought you were the one with the attitude! Sorry...today I actually have my mind on work and must be half reading posts!

your right,,if the people in your BP dont know each other,,it is better to put them with guests they know,,,we are lucky...everyone knows each other...PLUS,,there wont be much sitting at our wedding..

I mean they know each other but I think they will be happier with peopel they hang out with on a regular basis thats all!!!

k...got it..thats all!!!

I think it's ridiculous and ludicrous to have the bridal party sit separately. They're all dressed the same so why shouldn't everyone sit together- it's like separating twins at birth!

p.s. Don't go kicking me off the posts just yet- I'm the MOH at the biatches wedding, so I get to have my say!

Re: bridal party table

We're not having a bridal party table. Our siblings/cousin in the BP are sitting with family members/people they know. The other GM are our friends from law school so they will be seated with other people they know. The BMs are my friends from high school and they will be seated at a table full of high school friends. For our situation, this arrangement worked out best and my BMs were thrilled to be seated with all of our friends, especially since some of them don't come back to the NY area often.

I actually would prefer it. We have two BP tables so we put guests of the BP with them.

We are haivng our bridal party sit together....not at a dais...but there will be a round table on each side of where Fh and I will be sitting...

It worked out good for us,the table on my side will be my cousins in the bridal party with there significant others and my friends in the bridal partry..and the table on FH's side will his cousins in the bridal party with significant others and his friends...

That is what we are doing as well

i think that sounds absolutely fine...we split up our brothers to the family tables and had a semi-bp table...everyone was happier like that

I think that it is better to allow the BP to sit with people they know rather than be seated all together with people in the BP that they dont know too well. I just think that the BP will have a more fun that way.
