Bridal Party VENT - little long

Bridal Party VENT - little long

OK This is not a standard BP vent. A little backstory - FSIL and a GM (Charlie) were dating. They broke up - but are now dating again. One of my other BMs and her fiance (Steve) said nasty things about Charlie and tried to convince FSIL not to get back together with him. FSIL told Charlie about this.

So this weekend I am talking to FSIL (who is also one of my best friends) - and she tell me that Charlie said that if Steve says anything to him or starts with him at the wedding - he will 'go off on him'! And Steve is totally that guy who HAS to say something. So now I have to worry about these two guys getting into a fight at my wedding?!? I told FH to have a talk to them both - but my god they are 27 and 29 and I have to worry about this? What is sad is I can totally imagine them getting into it - GRRR.

Thanks for listening to my vent.

OMG.. I am going through something similar.. My best friend & MOH just went through a nasty breakup with her ex whom is al groomsman in my BP. The next time they will actually see each other is at the rehersal dinner, so you can imagine how uncomfortable that is going to make them & FH & I feel!!

There is nothing you can really do in a situation like that, hun. They just need to be adults & be civil for that one day. As if we need the added drama. Try to talk to them both before the wedding. They should know better.

I agree... you would like to think that 2 grown men could get over themselves for a day so that they don't make a scene at someone else's wedding. I'll think happy thoughts for you!!!

I know exactly what you are feeling, except I have to deal with it with my own brothers. The best thing you can do and I'm doing this is to have a moderator around them at all times. We're doing this and situating my brother's at separate tables, so as to not start anything. One thing to note though, these guys will know better than to ruin your perfect day b/c if they do anything, do you really think your FH will want to speak with them again?!

That really stinks that your own 2 brothers aren't getting along. Sorry to hear that!

Ugh that is awful! How awkward It just pisses me off that he even said he was gonna 'go off on him' - are we 15 years old? Ya know? I will personally kick both of their butts if they pull any nonsense

I would have FH explain to them in no uncertain terms that they need to act like grown men and either resolve it before the wedding or call a truce the day of.

Personally, I'd kick their happy a$$e$ if they even had a moment of tension!

They may just shut up that day, believe it or not. Some people wise up the day of and realize that they're bull shizz is not the most important thing going on.

But just in case, get your FH to warn the boys that there is to be NO fighting that day unless they want the bride's heel up their azzes.
