Bridal Reflections

So, as many of you know / do not know, I ordered my Jim Hjelm dress from there. I am a size 2 normally but I have a thyroid problem so who knows what I'll be next year. I ordered my dress. They ordered me a 4. I am a little scared because what if I get it in and it's too tight? I don't want to have to go crazy to fit into this dress. So, I called Bridal Reflections- lady was a little nasty on the phone. I told her I had called Saturday and someone was supposed to call back and they didn't. Now, I am all worried. What if they f*ck up my dress? Why would they order something so fricken small in the first place? Aren't these places supposed to order the dress like 3 sizes bigger? What did you guys do if you ordered your dress? How big did the sizes go up?

Re: Bridal Reflections

I haven't been shopping for a gown yet, but I know from ordering past bridesmaid dresses that my dress size was several sizes bigger than it should have been. I have been in 3 weddings and have heard that wedding gowns run the same as bridesmaid dresses. So I would guess that they probably should have ordered it maybe a size or two bigger than they did. I'm sure someone on here will have a better answer for you though. Good luck!

Thanks for getting back to me. I posted on '08 as I think more girls over there have ordered and received their gowns already. But, yea- you would think they would order it a lot bigger. *Sighs* we shall see what happens. I will wait until this woman gets back to me.

Re: Bridal Reflections

honestly...I went to one of the bridal reflections stores ( not sure which one) and I got such bad service from them. I was like 10 mins late bc we got a little lost and I went with my MOH and she didnt hav a babysitter so she had to bring her son with her and we were the only ones in there and when we walked in the lady at the front desk was like your late, she was very rude! Not like they were packed or anything buit whatever. I filled out the information and when she saw i wasnt getting married till 2009 she didnt even want to help me! it was one of the first places i went to and all i wanted was to get an idea of what i liked...basically she asked what i was looking for and i told her i liked jim heljm so she brought out one or tow of his dresses to shut me up and make me happy....she didnt let us look around all she did was go dowstairs bring up two or three desses and she was totally rude....maybe you got that same rude lady on the phone!
I would call and check

One of my girlfriends ordered her dress from the one in Massapequa and they were nasty every time she went there or called.

First, I would take a deep breath and if you are still really worried about it perhaps you could speak with another salon to find out what they would have done. Explain your situation and see what they offer up. You know, ask like you haven't already purchased the dress...just sound like you are putting a few feelers out there? Not sure if they will help but at least it might put your mind at ease!

GOOD LUCK!

THEY ARE VERY NAST THERE. I know from my sil. I stood away for that reason. You just need to keep on top of them. Remember you are spending your money in there. They are not buying the dress for you. Keep calling, be pushy they are not the ones holding the cards!!!!

Thanks girls for your replies. I had great service from them while I was there trying them on. They wanted to show me everything in the world. (Massapequa) But, yea- everytime I call, they are a$$holes. Luckily, she called me back today at 4:30 and said they were able to have it done in an 8 (which is really a 6) I rather it be big and have them alter it. You never know what could happen in a year. She told me the dress will be in by July. I proceeded to ask more questions and I still got an attitude. I swear, if the dress wasn't paid for, I would tell them to F themselves and go elsewhere.

My sister bought her Eve of Milady dress there and had a wonderful experience at Carle Place. I went the the mass. location to try on dresses this past weekend and mary lou helped me - she was wonderful - ask for her if you are looking at the mass store!!!!

I have also gotten bridesmaid dresses there. One time I didn;t like the way teh alterations went and they actually had their wedding giown seamtress fix it for me! I am a fan!

I agree! Keep trying them until you get the answer you want. Their service leaves something to be desired.

I'm glad that they ordered it bigger for you. That sounds like it should be perfect and you don't have to worry anymore.
