Bridal Reflections

Bridal Reflections

My experience with the bridal portion of their store in Carle Place has been fantastic but I can't say the same about the BM section in Massapequa.

My sister had a fitting yesterday and my mother and I went with her. We waited for about a half hour after her appointment they pretty much didn't even acknowledge us sitting there waiting. Finally my sister gets called in, now we are waiting in the room for another 15 minutes for the seamstress....RUDE. So finally the seamstress comes in, thank the lord. Anyway when I ordered the dresses I had 2 special instructions, save all extra fabric from dresses and NO STRAPS.

So as we are sitting there I say to her you are going to save the fabric and she said oh you want it. I said of course I do it's noted on my orders and she said you will have to have every girl come in and tell us to save the fabric from their dress. Maybe the should effin read the order before starting so they would have this info at hand. What if one of my girls forgets

Second issue she turns around to my sister and goes oh look the dress comes with straps you want to put the straps on. This is where I completely lost it. I said ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS TO HAVE STRAPS. It's not supposed to be offered to anyone. So I went to the front desk and told them I had these notes why weren't they passed along of course they never answered my question. I told them no one is to be offered straps once its offered it goes into someones head and poof they want it. I told them if one of my BM's has straps and the other 9 don't there are going to be problems.

Is it really that hard I only had 2 little details to follow and the seamstress went against both.

After I left I had a true bridezilla moment, a sort of meltdown.

I know this might not seem like a big deal to some but it was, these factors are so important for pictures.

Aside from all of this there was a girl there who had alterations and her hem was uneven, longer in the front and shorter in the back. So be careful with the alterations there. She had to go back for another fitting and the wedding is this month.

Re: Bridal Reflections

I bought my dress in BR in Massapequa and they were great, but I totally agree about the BM side.

I made an appointment for my 7 girls a month in advance and when we got there they put everyone in 1 room that didn't have separate changing areas. So I told the mgr that that was crazy and they gave us another small room so that they could change one at a time.

Then I told them the exact dresses that I wanted (by designer and style #) when I made the appt and they brought the wrong ones.

When they finally found the right one, I asked them the price. They told me it was $40 more than I had been quoted at another store. When I told them the price that I had gotten they told me that there was no way they could do that. Whatever - they lost 7 sales!

Now hearing what you said about the uneven hem it makes me worry about the alterations for my dress.

oh cr ap.....i just got the call yesterday that my BM dresses are in and they are at BR in Massapequa. I also got my dress there. I really, really hope we don't run into any problems. It just blows my mind that with the economy the way it is that their service would be so bad. You would think they'd treat us like gold for spending our money on dresses that have been marked up and for alterations that are RIDICULOUSLY priced. If we have any problems, I have BBB on speed dial in my phone and they will see the meanest, craziest Bridezilla of all time!!!!!!!!!!

I think you girls should be fine for your gowns. They use different seamstresses for bridal and bridemaids so I honestly think you will be fine. I thought the level of professionalism was so poor They have a lot of young girls working there and they were just hanging out. I seriously just wanted to go off on all of them. I just hope the alterations all go smoothly from here on out.

I got my dress and bridesmaid dresses at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding on June 6th. I didn't have any problems with alterations or fittings. My bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding needed to be drastically altered and I was worried about it. When I went to try it on and pick it up on Saturday, all was perfect.

Sorry you have to deal with this, I would def. let your BM know that they cant have straps since the bridal shop seamstress cant seem to get it right.
