bridal reflections and alterations

i have a couple of questions:
i just got the call that my dress is in a couple of days ago....not sure if i am getting my alterations done there since i am not sure what a good price for alterations is. Can i just go to BR and ask to try it on b4 scheduling a fitting to see how it fits? Also, for girls who bought their dress there....did u get your alterations there or go somewhere else and approx how much was the alterations and bustle? i am pretty sure my dress needs a french bustle. TIA!

My dress was from B.R. and there was a flat fee for all of the alterations, I have to find my contract, but I think it was $250

you can def try it on as many times as you want before your fitting, ive tried mine on several times. just make sure you make an appointment to try it on so that they pull it from inventory.
i am getting my altertaions there but did not start my fittings yet. mine is a 275 cap which is a lot but its a cap so if you dont need that much done it shouldnt cost that much.

ugh I would go somewhere else with alteraations I just feel like I got overcharged.. with the altertations and I still have to buy fabric tape to keep some of the fabric down because they can't adjust the dress anymore..they said the dress was made for someone with a larger chest.. so i am like ughh looking down at my small chest lol..

My dress practically fitted me perfectly and it was $190 when I heard that I wasl ike and thsi was an off the rack item.. so you might want to get a second opinion.. I was also worried about taking it somewhere else in fears that it would get dirty or the alterations would be way off.. I have to say though they are really really nice people..

I got my gown in NJ and was paranoid about taking it home to LI and having no where to bring it and no one to do alterations. I did some research and got a lot of opinions from all the girls on LIW and I took it from the original store to one on LI. If you search around and call some seamstressses you'll find one. If BR is too much, take it somewhere else - but not before calling around to see who can take it. And my bustle is around $150

They are def pricey....my dress has a french bustle and I think I payed around $250......check your contract first and see if you have a cap on your alterations and then decide!

I would have brought it somewhere else....but I was too nervous!!!!
