I found a dress there that I really liked... maybe even loved... but I want to be 100% sure - and try on a few more dresses.
Here's the thing - once we gave a really positive response on a dress (which was the 2nd one I tried) they kind of stopped showing me stuff. Is that normal... what do I do - make another appt? Then I sort of feel bad that they are spending so much time on me. And it doesnt seem like the kind of place you can just browse through... or can you?

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
I could but the lady was pretty short after I told her that I don't make wedding dress decisions on the spot. She stopped trying. I wanted to know if other people had the same experience - I don't think everyone chooses the dress that day

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
I had a very positive experience there. As soon as I found a dress I loved I stopped right away. You can't just broswe there. I am happy about that. They brought me stuff I would have never tried on myself. I am sorry about your visit. I wish I could remember who helped me. Sorry

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
I would make another appt. I worked with Patty in Carle Place and she was wonderful. The first dress I put on there I fell in love with. But she told me to try on a few other styles just to be certain and then told her I had to compare it to another dress I saw somewhere else and I would be in touch.

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
i didn't go to them but i knew once i put my dress on that it was the one for me..i didn't even want to try on others although i did..if you liked the dress then i would try it on again after trying on some more..you'll be surprised how much better it feels than any other you try on..i would go somewhere else though if you're not comfortable with their service..

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
I would definitely make another appt, you are paying so much on your gown, you want to make sure it is the right one. I worked with Darlene in Massapequa and I thought she was great and very patient. I think I tried on 2 gowns like 3 or 4 times each and one of them was like a lace up in the back. Call again!

Honestly, go elsewhere. Those months of second guessing really stink. You can always come back.

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
But, and I need to vent here, this just ticks me off. In any other setting, there would be no question...I want to see more and make sure. But somehow, go anywhere with the bride word on you and you are like at everyones total mercy. I should get it tattooed on my forehead; take me for a ride, why not, I am a bride?

Re: Bridal Reflections Question
I tried on dresses at Massapequa (Gloria helped me). I was lucky because there wasn't another appt right after me so we spent almost two hours. I think I tried on 12 dresses or so ... two of them I tried on twice.
I was about to try one of the two on again (the one that ended up being THE DRESS) but the next appt was coming in and when I said I was not going to purchase that day she discouraged me from trying it on again if I definitely was not making a decision.

I agree though - I find it really uncomfortable that you have to rely on them to dress you. Its like you're not in control of what you are seeing. Actually I specifically asked to see 2 dresses by a designer - she never brought was I was looking for - I don't know if it was on purpose or not. I am making another appointment.
Oh - I just want to be clear that I didn't have a bad experience at all at BR - actually I thought they were extremely professional - and they found me an amazing dress in 2 tries. The dresses were clean too - I'm just annoyed that the control there isn't with the bride - its with the sales woman. But that isn't unique to BR - they are all like that.

OK I just re read this and that's exactly what happened to me. Once I said I don't want to make a decision on the spot - I want to think it over - they shuffeled me out. Actually - my mom and aunt felt it was slightly rude that the lady walked away - she didn't even say good bye - she just didn't come back.
