Who knew that registering would be so hard! We spent two hours in Fortunoff and scanned 12 items. We thought we would have better luck at Macy*s....two hours later and only 1 item scanned!

Re: Bridal Registry
We registered for a majority of our stuff online. We are registered at Macy's and BBB. We started both registries online first, and only have physically registered for more items at Macy's. Didn't set foot into a BBB to register. You might find more things online that are not in the store. Good luck...and have fun!

Re: Bridal Registry
I haven't checked online yet. I really thought it would be easy. I thought I would walk in and know exactly what I wanted...who knew!

Re: Bridal Registry
Join the club. I am stuck too. I went to Macy's and was shocked to find not much that i actually liked, and me and my fiance agree on almost everything. I thought about going to fortunoffs but most of the in-laws to be are middle and eastern suffolk and would be a pain to drive there. SO i went to Bloomingdales and they had a much better selection. But as of today we are still undecided. Plus and added pain. We live together already, we own a condo and have alot of things. What do i register for???

Re: Bridal Registry
I think that I have taken things off and put new things on at least once every two weeks! It gets a little easier to register once you have decided on all the major things.

Re: Bridal Registry
MACY'S is not the best place to register in my opinion. The staff are rude and they have none of the common registry items in stock. I have gone to Herald Square many times to get presents for friends and they said that in all three cases - I could not possible walk out of the store with one item that was on their registry - everything had to be ordered. That's OK for the wedding gifts but I figured most shower gifts are purchased within 2 weeks of the wedding and that isn't enough time to have the gift in hand. They make the process tough. Bloomies is better I think. Fortunoff is OK - that's where I'm registered. No real problems so far and I've found that their prices are the best (even vs Micahel C Fina).

Re: Bridal Registry
I also found Macy's to be quite dull, I went to the one in Midtown Manhattan, one of the largest around 34th street and all they had were picture frames and Lenox China....boring

Re: Bridal Registry
I was unsure about registering at Macy*s. I have often walked out feeling frustrated b/c the items I wanted had to be ordered, BUT everyone lives near a Macy*s (or some division of a federated store). Tonight when we went to register, we had the most wonderful experience. We went to the Macy*s in Roosevelt Field and the staff was so helpfull! They really explained everything. They actually walk around the selling floor with you and help you pick out items(even though we could only decide on one thing!). I couldn't believe the service we got!

Re: Bridal Registry
I have looked online for what I would be interested in registering for - and only after I had a good idea of what each store had - we went to register
Glad you had a good time!

Re: Bridal Registry
I registered at Macys and jcpenney. I did most of my registering online. I went to the store and then I added stuff at home. You can really search and find a lot of things that you need that are are not in the store online. I needed a store that most people could get to if they couldnt order online.

Re: Bridal Registry
i really found registering online to be much more organized, and i was able to go at my own pace. also, with the product descriptions i was able to see better which products were a better value or quality. i hope this helps. i felt the same way when i went to the store. i mean, its fun to scan away with the gun, but it is hard to decide what to scan!!!!
