Bridal Registry -- Opinions, Please!!????

Bridal Registry -- Opinions, Please!!????

Ladies, I would really love your thoughts. FH doesn't want a registry at all. We already live together and we don't need that much stuff. He said he doesn't want people buying things we don't really need so he prefers cash or a gift card. I agree with him but I am worried that if you don't do a registry people that don't like giving cash will just bring some random vase or something that I don't like or need. I always give money when I go to weddings but I know that some people still don't like to do that. What do you guys think?

FH and I have the same issue, we live together and have all the usual gift items already, but I have to say I wouldn't mind getting a new toaster, a new vacuum or nicer pots and pans!! You could make a small registry with some upgrade items or just do the BB and B thing.

we live together as well but our registry is still full! we found it a great opportunity to upgrade our stuff and to get all the things we wouldnt normally splurge on. But if he really doesn't want an item registry, why not try a honeymoon registry. This is essentially people giving you cash but it still feels like they bought you something.

you will get so much crap if you don't register...just register for fun stuff and also you can register for gift cards

how about a honeymoon registry?

if not, then definitely BB&B; however, make sure that people mention the registry and take the items off of it, or else you can't get cash back, just store credit.

DH and I lived together for a year before we got married and we have everything also. What I did was registered for little things or things I know I would want. It doesnt have to be kitchen things you can do bathrooms, living rooms and even the bedroom. We registered for sheets and towels. You can always use those. I would do it and it is fun registering.

We're registerded at BB&B and Fortunoffs, and my question is....

How do u get the word out without being too presumptuous and stuff??

dont feel like telling everyone, 'hey by the way, im registered at.......'

register for a few nice things (crystal, etc.) or things you want to 'upgrade' - but register at a store that you want to get gift cards from because people will know you like that store and if the few things on your registry are bought by the time they get to shopping for you, they will pick up a gift card

People asked my parents, and I also occasionally search for people I know who recently got engaged on BBB's registry listing. However, the best way to get the word out in a non-presumptuous way (in my opinion) is to make a wedding website and include a page with direct links to your registries.

We included the link to our wedding website on our STD magnets.

Re: Bridal Registry -- Opinions, Please!!????

honestly, we had a registry(mainly for the purpose of my bridal shower...we didn't include registry info in our wedding invites)...our registry was still open at the time of our wedding and we got TWO gifts that weren't cash and it was from people that were out of state. Honestly, the majority of people will give money as long as ur having a bridal shower...if u're not having one & u'd prefer cash then i wouldn't bother doing registry stuff unless it's for a few nice things that u need. good luck!
