Bridal Registry *situation*

Bridal Registry *situation*

So I got my first bridal shower gift over the weekend. 2 of my (FAVORITE) aunts cannot make my shower in 2 weeks, so they brought a gift to my dad's annual bbq on Saturday.

It was the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 10-Piece Cookware Set

so cool..

So the dilemma lies here. I was bored at work today and peeked at my registry
(I KNOW!!! slap my hand please)

ANYWAY.. I noticed someone bought me theCuisinart Chef's Classic Non-Stick Hard Anodized 10-Piece Cookware Set!!

We will now own 2-10 piece sets and as cool as that sounds, I just don't cook that much (heheh)

and realized that the LATTER is the one FH & I registered for. The stainless steel one, that my aunts gave us wasnt on our registry.. I'm thinking they made a mistake and bought the wrong set. But to be honest with you, I think we'll end up keeping it.

at my shower, I dont plan on mentioning that I already received this to the person(s) who bought it from the registry since my aunts won't be there anyway...(I'm right... right?)

How hard is it to return one?
AND.... which one would YOU keep?

oy-- no more peeking! Someone change my password!!!

Defintely do not mention it!

If you like both of them, then return the one that is on your registry- because they will not give you a problem and you will receive full price.

Where is your registry? if it's at BB&B no worries. I returned a few things over the weekend and it was quick and easy!

I say stick with the stainless steel (no pun intended ) Food taste better..just invest in a good non-stick pan for omelets and such..

I agree They are both really nice sets, but the stainless one will have some extra sentimental value because it came from your favorite aunt

I bet they'd let you return the one you don't want. Give it a shot!

I'd keep the stainless. I've had good sets of both stainless and nonstick, and I greatly prefer stainless. However, I couldn't live without at least one good non-stick skillet and one good stainless pot... I'd keep the stainless and get a couple 'extras' in nonstick.

(E.g., if you make mashed pototoes or something requiring a mixer in a nonstick pot, you're going to have some of the coating flake off eventually - even on the best of brands)

I have the Cuisinart stainless steel set and love it. I actually got it a before I met FH - wasn't sure if anyone would ever be on the horizon...

Bed and Bath gives you back cash... no problems.

That is so funny. The exact same thing happened to me w/the exact pots. I also got exactly what you did. I returned them to BBB and got the $$. It was great.

the stainless steel is much better, but you can always return the other set...maybe get store credit and buy other items in your registry that you may not get. Def. do not mention it to your guests! Good luck to you!

I'd keep the Stainless steel. Non-stick is great but it doesn't last very long. In a year or two you will have to replace them, whereas the stainless steel pots should be good for years to come.
