Bridal Salon Suggestions

I'm sorry, but I'm just too lazy and impatient to search for this topic with the way the site's acting today. My sister, who is my MOH, is coming to NY from Texas next month for work and I promised her that I would go wedding dress shopping with her when she came in. I don't know when she'll be back in NY again before my wedding, if at all (and I still haven't set a date yet, but hope to by the time she gets here), and I really want to be able to do this with her. I am still hoping to have my dress custom-made for free or for the cost of the materials, so I'm not looking to purchase a dress; just to try some on so that I know what style looks good on me and for the fun of it, too. Can anyone suggest a place in Nassau that is open at night during the week where I can take pictures (either of the dresses hanging or on me) so that I can bring them to the designer and have them for myself so that I can remember what they look like? Or any places that I might be able to take pictures surreptitiously?

Thanks!

I've been to almost every salon on LI and liked bridal reflections the best. All the salons are very strict about pictures though, for the reason you mention. I think the most likely place to take pics would be RK Bridal in the city bc they left me alone to change myself and I could have taken the pictures of the dresses in the changing room.

Re: Bridal Salon Suggestions

I had a feeling that most places would frown upon taking pictures. I guess I'll just have to look for as many pictures of gowns that I like and check out which location has the most designers of the dresses I like and go from there. I wonder what people who have no family around to go dress shopping and offer their opinions do. I would be too afraid to trust my own judgment on this.

Where is Bridal Reflections located?

Wedding Salon of Manhasset is great. They might let you take pictures. They left me alone in the dressing room with my sister, and she could have easily snapped a picture without a flash.

Bridal Reflections is in Massapequa at 3 Broadway. They have a great selection and the staff is really nice.
