bridal salon suggestions

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if you guys can help me -- I'm gonna go dress shopping with my gals and we've already been to RK Bridal. I was wondering if there were other bridal salons that you would recommend where the dresses are not too expensive -- I really don't want to spend more than $800 on my dress (before alterations) and $200 on their dresses. I know that Saks and Kleinfields have salons but is it true that the dresses start at 1800? That's too much for me. Even if I bought the dress online, I wouldn't be able to get a big enough discount. THANKS!

Re: bridal salon suggestions

I ordered my dress from Charisol in Flushing. While my gown was relatively inexpensive anyway (about your price range), I saved a lot on alterations--they're free at Charisol!! You pay $35 for the bustling and there's also a small pressing fee. I've dealt with Charisol for three weddings I was in and I've absolutely never had a problem. Hope this helps.

even though I lived in Queens and worked in Nassau...I went to Bridal Suite in Bayshore and they were the absolute best...I know they have a range of prices...and your would be in there...I saw $600-2000

the women were nothing but great...and when the store burned (a neighboring store started) the manufacturers did everything that they could to get every dress reordered...I think that says alot about their reputation with the manufacturers...it has been owned by the same woman for almost 40 years!!!

Charisol is 159-21 Northern Blvd. Flushing. I didn't need an appointment, but just in case, the number is (718) 939-5269. Also, I found my dress elsewhere, but Charisol was happy to order it for me even though they didn't have the sample in the store.
