Bridal shop question...
Does anyone know of a Bridal Shop in Suffolk or Nassau County that will get a sample dress for you to try on? I know of a few dresses I like but no one has it in their store for me try on. I don't want to buy a dress without trying one on. Thanks!

Some advise
Go to the website of the designer and either call or look for the store nearest you. Most shops will not get one in just for you try on. But I agree you should never purchase a dress without trying it on first. Bridal Suite in Centereach was very helpful. Kleinfields in Brooklyn has a very large selection of dresses.

Bridal shop question...
I just ordered my dress yesterday after searching for the perfect gown for several weeks. I went to Kleinfelds first and was thoroughly unimpressed with the selectionl They did not have nay of the dresses I showed them in pictures. Yesterday I went to bridal Reflections in Carle Place and they had a great selection and a great knowledge of wedding gowns and styles.etc.. The had every gown in the store that I had brought pictures of, all different designers. I had an all around great experience there and bought my gown!! :) If you have not gone there yet, you should try them. Hope this helps!

agree with michelle
I saw a picture in a magazine and first went to one of the stores they listed having that designer and they did not have my style...then i decided I would call the stores first to see if they had my dress in the store (i smartened up).. the first store I called Bridal Suite Bay Shore did have it on loan from another store in Florida...so i don't know if this is a common practice or not...it was a size 16, not a usual size for samples, but maybe was requested by someone. and thats the one I bought...I don't know if Bridal Suite Bay Shore does that as a policy, but it wouldn't hurt to ask

Kleinfelds...
will borrow it from another store if you let them know what you want to try on. Im sure other stores do the same thing but I know for sure Kleinfelds will.

my experience...
I used the Bridal Suite in Bayshore. They had a dress that I wanted, but I'll tell you, once I bought it, that was the end of their service. They never called me to tell me it was in-or my girls' dresses. They ordered the wrong slip and then messed up on the first set of alterations. After that, my wedding reception had to be postponed due to the tragedies of Sept. 11th. We carried on with the ceremony and they told me at Bridal Suite to bring the dress back afterward and they would take care of it. When I went back, they told me that I should go get it cleaned or they could send it out. Of course, they would have to charge me for this. After charging me, I came back to a dress that still had stains on it, was barely pressed and now had frayed embroidery that had been pristine before that. It is disappointing that customer service is dead in such a delicate time in our history.

MIkkiRed- you should call the Better Business Center
And report this experience. It might help other brides in the future. I am sorry to hear about your problems with the shop. I am sure it just added to an already stressful situation.

I had a horrible experience with Patchogue Bridal Suite
Mikki I can sympathize with you. I had to constantly hound them about my daughter's(my MOH) gloves which they sent out to be dyed and then could not find with less than 2 weeks til the wedding. On top of that they overcharged my for my daughter's dress and it was only discovered because I kept my original receipt. They did such a horrible job on the alterations on my daughter's dress that it actually came apart less than 1 hour into the reception. And the worst was that the night of my last fitting, after making me wait over 1 1/2 hours to try on my dress, I realized that they had not finished hemming the lining of my dress. They promosed me it would be just fine when I picked it up. The day of my wedding I discovered that it was way too long after I tripped over about 50 times and finally ended up ripping it. I used to recommend them but after this experience I tell people to stay far away!!Welcome New Vendors
