I am going dress shopping for the first time in about a week. I've read some bridal shop horrors on this board...can anyone recommend a good bridal shop in Patchogue or the surrounding area?
Also, do I need to make an appointment???

My friend a few years ago used bridal paradise. I was in the wedding party. She was completely happy with her dress, but I have seen other brides screaming at them when I was getting my fittings. Also the dress alterations for me were not done right. the sleeves were too tight and it was very uncomfortable. One of the bridesmaids seems came loose (zipper area) when we were getting dressed for the photos at the house. so use caution there. Bridal suite I just heard all night mares from. I walked in there for my wedding and they completely ingnored me, and I tried more then once.
I did here the bridal suite in bayshore is supposed to be good though. some people recommended me to go there instead of the one in patchogue.

went to the bridal suite there, it was OK, nothing to complain about the service was great and the ladies were nice, a good selection...
They had the twinkling lights so you could see how the dress would sparkle in the reception. That was cute.

Paradise Bridals - got my dress there. They were very helpful and I had no problems at all. Donna was my saleswomen and Rosalie my seamstress.

I also say Paradise Bridal, I have delt with many times in the past that when it was my turn I did not go and look any where else. They are GREAT to deal with and even helped us with the prices!!!

I bought my dress at Paradise Bridals. My mom, MOH, and BM's all got their dresses there too. So far they have been great!

I got my dress there and all the BM dresses too! They are great and so helpful! They have a TON to choose from!!!!!!!
You should call and make an appointment, just to be safe! But I just keep showing up to put my dress on again I just love it so much!

Unfortunately the only day my mom and I can go together is a Sat. right now, so I guess it would be wise to make an app!

Saturday is a madhouse! You should definatly make an appointment. They are open until 9pm during the week. I suggest seeing Donna, but all the women there are very helpful!

I had a bad experience with Paradise Bridals. I actually ended up filing a complaint with the BBB. Long story short, unusual circumstances forced me to have to cancel my dress order, I tried to call them numerous times, they denied that I ever called (even though they got my updated business phone number somehow), tried to charge me extra for the dress, threatened to sue me, etc. Anyway, I know my SIL bought her dress there and was happy so maybe I am one of only a few who've had problems with them.

I got my dress at Bridal Suite in Centereach. They are not affiliated with the one in Patchogue. I dealt with Debbie and she was wonderful. I highly recommend them. Ask for Debbie. She is so so helpful!

Paradise Bridal!! Vivienne was my sales lady, and I can't remember who my seamstress was. They were a pleasure to deal with! My mom got her MOB dress there too. They made sleeves for my dress, and without my asking even put beads on them that matched my dress exactly, right down to the pattern the beads made....for example, two bugles, one silver, one pearl, etc... They let me cancel my tiara MONTHS after the order was placed. They also had a TON of dresses to choose from.

Paradise seemed to have a nice selection of gowns (BM FG & MOB/G as well!)...i was only there for one dress. Anyway, Donna was Fabulous - very helpful. She's calling the designer for me to check on some details with me. Prices looked reasonable, competetive.

I bought my dress from Paradise, Marge was very nice. My BM's are also getting there dresses from there as well. So far no complaints
