Bridal shops 'negotiating'

Bridal shops 'negotiating'

I found my bridesmaids dresses (FINALLY). The dress is a 2 piece - sold as separates. In the dress shop, the prices are 97 dollars for the top and about the same for the skirt. (total is over 200 bucks with tax).

I found the same separates on Netbride for 107 (this includes tax and shipping)!

I would rather give the ladies at the bridal shop here the business (they were very helpful), but I can't ask my bridesmaids to spend that much on a dress that they will probably never wear again. I can't afford to pay for them myself - we are paying for our wedding.

My question is - do you think I could get the local bridal shop to come down in price?

Also, for those of you that dealt with Netbride, how was your experience?

Thanks guys - Happy Easter, by the way

It can't hurt. They might come down somewhat but most likely due to other overhead expenses might not be able to match netbride.

Have you tried Burton's? For me, they came very close to on-line prices. They were a bit more but they cap their alterations so it wound up being cheaper in the end.

My problem is I'm an OOT bride (Maryland)with OOT bridesmaids (MD, VA, NY, NJ, CT - could it be any more complicated?).

I guess I should probably just use Netbride - this way I can just have all the dresses shipped to each girl....

i have heard of bridal shops being negotiable on price--but like the above poster said, they probably cant match netbride's price.

Re: Bridal shops 'negotiating'

I had WONDERFUL experiences ordering the BM dresses online.

They all got their $250 gown for $134.

Basically, they all went to the shop of their choosing, to 'try it on'

Then, they reported back to me on the size that they needed.

I placed the order (and got free shipping because I had 5 gowns)

And, when the gowns arrived, the girls came to pick them up and had them altared on their own.
