So my mom and I went to our first bridal show the end of August at the Marriott in Uniondale. We filled out the usual paperwork, one of them being a raffle for a free trip somewhere.
Yesterday afternoon, a woman calls me and tells me that I'm one of the women that won 3 prizes: a free 2 night stay in a hotel or all inclusive, a $1000 grocery stores gift coupons and 40% off their kitchenware items.... HOWEVER, both my FH and I have to go to their next kitchenware show to pick up my prizes and I also 'get the chance' to check out the kitchenware and give them opinions and see if I want to buy some using the 40% off 'prize'.
Is this for real? Has anyone won anything like this?

its real, but the stuff they want u to purchase is a lot of money
there was tonsssssss of drama on here about a yr ago with this debate. some girls LOVEEE their cookware, some think its a crock of dooodie

It sounds like the timeshare thing I got suckered into in Disney. Get free tickets to ________ but you have to pick them up from this resort! FH nearly punched a woman in the face there, but that's a whole different story. Before that experience I would've said it'll be worth it to go to the show, pick up the stuff and leave, but now I say it's not worth the aggravation.

the showcase is HIGH PRESSURE SALES...so if you go, be warned. they wont let you out easy.

This is why FH almost punched a woman in the face. They will resort to any tactics to try to make a sale. The saleswoman began insulting FH and implying that he's flat broke and maybe I shouldn't marry him after all!

Whenever they tell me that I win these things... b/c I always magically win... I don't call back. I know there's got to be some sort of hassle involved for me to magically win a free trip every other month.
