bridal show warning

bridal show warning

FH and I have been going to a ton of bridal shows recently. At each bridal show they make us fill out this blue card so that you have a chance to win something. A couple days ago we got a phone call from 21st century saying that we won a contest from one of the cards we filled out at the show. They said we won a $500 gift card to an online company, a three day, two night vacation to one of 15 places we choose, and %40 off this cookware stuff.

So FH and I went to the Hampton inn today to pick up our prize, however, the catch was we had to sit through this 90 min presentation about this royal prestige cookware. Let me tell you the presentation was impressive, he cooked in front of us, and showed us how horrible other cookeware is and how it can flake off into your food. Even aluminum pans can cause health problems. Plus if we bought their product today we would get a five day, four night vacation to Cancun, all inclusive!

So, after 90 minutes he said that the %40 off was only good for today. Now this cookware was very expensive, With the discount it would cost $1800, but if it was really that good then maybe it would be worth it. Plus we could use the Cancun trip as part of our honeymoon. FH and I stood around with the other couples and thought about it. Two couples left and us and one other couple stuck around and ended up buying it. When we got home we went online and looked up the product we bought. It apparently has gotten some pretty bad reviews! Plus, I feel like we payed more for the trip to cancun than the cookware. FH and I looked over the contract and signed the back saying to cancel the order. But I am still nervous and I hope it all goes through in the three business days we have to cancel it. We're doing it certified mail so they ahve to sign that they got it.

On top of that the online website with the $500 gift card had crap. Nothing worth buying at all.

So, if any of you get a phone call like this saying you won something from a bridal show, I wouldn't go. It's a big scam! I don't know what we were thinking, it's so easy to get sucked into these things.

I got roped into this scan many years ago ( previous engagement). We went through everything and even purchased it. We decided to cancel and they said that we couldn't/ We ended up taking them to court and getting our money back. What a bunch of crooks!!!!

That is so funny me too they got me we went to that crap. The cookware was totally overpriced and they called themselves cooking for you they gave us a crappy little plate to share together. That 500 gift garbage nothing on the web worth buying I haven't even attempt to use the free vacation. Nothing is free believe me you won nothing. I don't even call these people back anymore. If I won something so special why are you hunting me down.
Someone been calling me saying I won so laser treatment yeah whatever...Give me some cash with no strings attached to use toward my wedding and maybe I will be bothered with ya.

Ladies,

Royal Prestige is a 100% scam, they can ruin your credit beyond repair. I would do research on them before you sign and date anything. They are known for there bridal scams. I got the call as well. FH did a search on the when I got the phone call a few months ago. They get your name from bridal expose. The RH and/or vendors at the expose sell the list of all the brides that attended the bridal showcases. When they called again we called back to let them know we did research on who they are and what they do to ppl. Needless to say, they never called gain. Please Be Careful.

I got the same call and my fiance and I went to the show abd we did not have to buy a thing. We went home with the shopping spree and a free trip. I just finished the shopping spree and I found some great things on there web site. We couldn't be happier with the items we picked out.

You actually like the things that were on there. I thought it was complete garbage. Maybe they offered you better things. We did not even attempt to use the free so called vacation yet. Why do people do this to you during this time of your life and all people want to do is rip you off.

I just got this phone call 10 minutes ago. The guy gave me all the info, but I knew it sounded too good.... He did tell me that we would have to sit through a presentation, but I don't know if it's worth it or not. If we decide on going without buying anything, and just take the trip, isn't that worth it? Has anyone actually cashed in on this 'all inclusive' trip that they offer to either Mexico, or DR?

Re: bridal show warning

I got the call from royal prestige months ago and researched their name on the Better Business Bureau and on LIW, which was past brides saying how much of a scam it was. You might still be able to get your money back. And do a search on LIW for them.
