Bridal Showcase at Douglaston Manor...anyone go?

My car battery died and I couldn't make it Did anyone else? How was it..especially the food.

I did go to it and it was ok. There weren't that many vendors there (one dj, florist, favor company...) but the food was great. They had a full spread with a pasta bar, buffet, carving station, and then desserts and, my personal fave, a chocolate fountain. It was generally a small expo though. One annoying thing was that there were supposed to be dresses on display and for sale. We stopped by to see them after eating and they were gone. They packed up and left without even telling the organizers of the event. Thought that was kind of rude-not to mention the fact that it was only 8:45. I thought they could have at least stayed two hours. So, all in all, I'd say you didn't miss too much. I'm sure there will be bigger and better ones to go to. Good luck with all your planning!!

I didn't book Douglaston Manor, but when we went to see it we were told that food tastings are held EVERY Thursday. I'm not sure why you have to wait until March. Perhaps their next showcase is then, but you can taste the food any Thursday, call your BM...HTH!
