Bridal Shower

Bridal Shower

Anyone who has been in a bridal party, can you please provide your advice. Nowadays, who is primarily responsible for the costs of the bridal shower. I am in a bridal party and the other girls would like to chip in 100 per bridesmaid and 50 per bridesmaid for decorations. there are 8 bridesmaids total? Does this sound reasonable, too low, too high?

Thanks

I've only been in 2 BP's. The first was at the bride's Aunt's house we each were responsible for bringing a dish and we all chipped in ($30 ea I think) for a combo gift and there were 7 of us.

The second was a formal luncheon in a restaurant and her mom and the groom's mom covered the cost. We didn't chip in for a combo gift.

How many people are invited to the bridal shower and what type of venue?

I believe the mother's sometimes help with the cost of the showers.

If there are not too many guests, I am sure you can make a very nice shower for $1200.

I think it depends on the amount of people...the venue. I have been in many BP's and I have paid anywhere from $0 (when the MOB paid for it) all the way up to $350! This does not include the gift. But as Christine mentioned...you can definately pull off something nice for $1200. Good luck.
