Bridal Shower

It's unfortunate that I'm actually asking this, but I wanted to know with those of you who already had their showers, who hosted it? I am familiar with the fact that the MOH and BM hosts the shower, as long as they are not related to the bride. The bride's immediate family nor groom's immediate family members are not supposed to host the shower because it is considered self-serving. Is this true in your scenarios/families?

Well my mom paid for the shower but the invitations said the shower was given by my bridal party

I've never planned or been to a shower that wasn't at least partially planned by both moms too. At least, definitely the bride's mom. I know that my mom is helping to pay for mine, and I am sure that my FMIL will be handling something.

My mom paid for half the restaurant and the BP paid for the other half of the restaurant and everything else. The invitation said it was hosted by the Bridal Party. From all my other experiences, bridal showers were usually hosted by MOB's or the bridal party. Hope that helps.

?? My Sis is the MOH - she is planning- and my Dad is paying ( sis is 22)

If my Mom was alive- she would be planning and paying

My Grandma had my Aunts-

Mom's love to be involved in this, as far as my family is concerned. I'd say whatever works for your BM's an moms should be what you do. The formalities of 'who does what' aren't strictly adhered to these days, it seems.

My mother paid for my shower. BM helped out with the
planning but my mother took care of the expenses.

My mom is paying for the shower.. my BP and MOH is helping with other things for the shower.

I dont think it matters who throws it for you, it should be whoever wants to do it, no real rules...

also my FSIL her mom did hers.

My sisters and cousin (all were BM) threw my bridal shower and my parents paid for it.

I think it's traditional for the bridal party to host, but these days with things as expensive as they are things are changing. My mother is paying....my sister and best friend are 'hosting'
