Re: Bridal Shower
If your girls are set to a budget, maybe one of them can offer their home for the shower? And another can offer to cook? There are ways around budgets, it just takes more work. Way I see it, you can offer either $$ or hhelp. If you have no $$, you better be willing to help.

Re: Bridal Shower
its not budgets, MOH is just likes to make a big deal of nothing. all the other girls have no problem with giving any amount of $$.

Re: Bridal Shower
Atleast she's kinda working on it. I'll be lucky if I get one. I really think that people don't know what being a moh or bm is about now a days. I hope they figure out a way of working it out. Good luck

Re: Bridal Shower
I love showers at people's home. They are so much fun. I told my mom I want my shower at her house - but I don't know if it will actually be there or at another relative's house. I'm curious...and I don't expect anything extravagent because that's not the way my mom is or my friends for that matter.

Re: Bridal Shower
That's the thing about a shower, you're not in control. You can't choose when it is or where or how much people will spend on it. Maybe instead of getting in your mind what the 'perfect' shower would be, you should gear up for your shower, or none at all. The point of a shower is for you to spend time with the women that are important in your life and for them to shower you with love and, yes, with gifts. But if you only want a shower for the gifts, well that's not right.
Decide what you want and talk to your MOH. If you're okay with having the shower at someone's house with homemade food and DIY decorations, let her know that. I'm sure your BP will be able to do something like that with their budget and it will be fabulous, because it will be a wonderful celebration filled with love.

Re: Bridal Shower
Well then- she shouldn't be speaking for everyone! Breaks my heart when MOH goes wrong... Maybe you (or your mom, who ever is scarier when confronted), should sit her down, give her a date, and say- hey- what can YOU give. Oh, only xx$$?,m fine- then you need to set up the decorations, or pick up the cake, etc. Give her more tasks. Maybe your mom could talk to the other girls by themselves? I'm sorry this girl is making the happiest time in your life so difficult!

Re: Bridal Shower
MY MOH never stepped up either. My mom just told me that everything is taken care of. Thank goodness for her or I probably wouldn't have a shower either. I don't understand, if I was a MOH I would be stepping up to do my part, as my mom said, not everyone is like me. But that really pisses me off!! If they don't want the responsiblites or don't have the time, why did they accept the offer!!!
