Re: Bridal Shower
I know we all know we're getting one but I honestly HATE when brides start butting in to their own bridal shower about what they want blah blah blah...be bridezilla about your wedding not something that other people are doing for you. It's supposed to be a surprise (unless you've stated otherwise) if you want to keep telling people what to do then plan the $hit yourself...and pay for it yourself!
ETA: Yea a little harsh but eh whatever

Re: Bridal Shower
I am not helping with the planning, or anything like that.
But i did ask my mom to not suprise me.. So she said she will only be telling me when it is.
We agreed to have the time/date not be a suprise, but everything else will be. I thought it was a fair enough compromise.

I agree, let them have their part and do it...PLUS TAKE A BREAK!!!! we dont have to plan everything...i am glad this is one part i dont have to plan and drive myself crazy.
My only request is a few months before the wedding bc i dont want those guests to buy shower gifts then like a few weeks later give a gift at the wedding...It'll be too much

I'm nervous to have a surprise bridal shower, well I'm nervous to have a surprise anything I would love to know when it is.

I think I would be very uncomfortable walking into a surprise bridal shower. And I think I would be hard to surprise because I would constantly be thinking 'this may be it!'.
My mom said she was thinking the same thing, because I know all her tricks from planning other surprise parties.
So my sister and my mom decided to ask me what i wanted.. - to be completely surprised - to know the date/time - to know everything, and help plan everything
I went with choice 2. I trust them to plan.

Re: Bridal Shower
I agree I do not want to look like a mess. I also requested that it be several months ahead since I am getting married in january and the month before is the holiday season. It is usually very hectic and people are spending lots of money, I think that is a bit much to ask of people. a shower, christmas, and a wedding they would kill me!

Re: Bridal Shower
I have no problem telling when I want it to be. But I don't care if I am surprised. I typically hate surprises.
