Bridal Shower...

has anyone already had their bridal shower? does anyone have any good sites to visit or any suggestions (maybe something a little different) for a Bridal Shower... my maid of honor is getting a little ahead of herself (my wedding date is 8/31/03) and wanted me to ask around! - Thanks!!

I haven't been here but, I hear that the Irish Coffee Pub is really nice. I went to one at the Davenport Press in Mineola and that was nice, but small - so it depends on how many people you're having. I understand how you feel - my wedding is 9/20/03 and my mom and MOH have already made me make a list!

My sister (my MOH) is the same.. and mine isn't until 8/9/03 hehe

I am a big fan of family style when it comes to parties like a shower. I threw a friend of mine's shower at a place called Joe Abbracciamento's (on Woodhaven Blvd) and been to plenty of other parties there. It used to be a movie theatre... It is a very nice place. The reason I like family style is because the hostess, in this case your MOH, does not have to make herself crazy deciding on the menu... and figuring out a budget! Plus you are constantly given food throughout the party!

She can concentrate on the fun stuff - nice invites, decorations, wishing well, etc.

But since that place is in Queens it may be more convenient to have it on LI... La Parma in Oceanside is very good, I've been to a rehearsal dinner there! And also, Carmela's???? In Franklin Square, I may have totally screwed up that name, I've been to a party at each and loved it!

Just a few suggestions for your MOH

I have a bridal shower at the Milleridge Inn this Saturday, I thought that was an interesting place to have a shower too!

Mine was at The Printer's Devil In Port Jefferson Village. They have a really pretty glass room for parties. They did a Victorian Tea Party Theme. It was perfect!
