Ok, so my mother is home sick and is surfing the web for bridal shower etiquette.
She said the the bridal shower should be done anywhere from 3 months to 1 week before the wedding.
She also said that the only people that are supposed to be invited are those close to the bride. Is this true? Should everyone from FH's side not be invited?
Also, unfortunately we have time constraints. FH's sister just set a date for her wedding in Sept and his cousin is getting married the end of June. When would a shower be most appropriate?

actually its 3 monts to 1 month before the wedding but 2 or 3 months preferably...unless you HAVE to do it the week before you shouldn't bc it will be alot for the guests to buy a gift for that and then give more at your wedding.
YES you invite fh's family. They mean close friends and family and by family its close family from both sides. So his mom, grandmother, aunts, cousins and whoever is close to them.
Basically invite whomever you want there.

IMO, since your FSIL is getting married in Sept your best bet would be to have it in early to mid August. And again IMO, the grooms family and close female friends should be invited. Your mom should ask your FMIL whom she feels should be invited from his side. I gave my MOH a list of all the females coming to the wedding and their relationship to me and FH.

Re: Bridal Shower
Someone at work was telling me she knew someone who invited women to her shower but not to the wedding that is terrible!!!! You should really invite the ladies that you've invited to the wedding. Even FH's friends I am inviting their spouces, gfriends, etc.
