Just a quick question -- As far as the bridal shower is concerned....should this be something that my mother should be organizing and paying for? Or is this something the bridal party should take care of?

it can be either. i think traditionally its the bridal party but nowadays its whoever wants to do it.

i ahve heard of some BM paying for part of the shower.....
My mom is paying for mine.........

It really is up to your mom and BP. Traditionally, the BP is supposed to host and finance it. But nowadays things are so different that it varies based on the person.
My mom and FMIL split the cost of my shower and just asked the BP to help do research and setup. But they didn't ask the girls for a dime because they knew none of them could really afford it.

Yyour mom if she is able to and is willing could do it on her own or can also enlist the help of the bridal party.
My moms paying for mine and having some of the bridal party help out with decor and such
