Re: Bridal Shower

I'm in my friends bp and we are having her shower 5 weeks before the wedding. We had it planned for much earlier, but his mother made us change the date because she was having someone come in to measure for new carpets on that date. So from the bp point of view, I'm sure they have a good reason to have it so late (it's got to be better than our reason!) but as a bride to be also I'm sorry to hear that!

Re: Bridal Shower

I'm sorry Go buy them The Bridesmaid Guide book. Easier and cheaper than a plaque...and highlight the main section on bridal showers.

sometimes i just wonder where people's brains are--how could they not know to plan one sooner---3 weeks before the wedding-that's nuts--you have sooo many other things going on! hugs to you!

Re: Bridal Shower

I had mine 4 weeks before the wedding, and it was out of town so I had to go for the whole weekend, I don't see what the big deal is.

Edited to add: maybe you should help them understand what you expect of them and what you don't. My BM's are all in school, so I didn't ask them to plan my shower, so the next time they are in a wedding they may not know that it is their 'job'. You picked these girls for a reason, try to remember what that was and you'll feel better about this.

Re: Bridal Shower

Because I'v enerv been a bridesmaid, I wasn't sure what mine were supposed to do either, so as a gift for each of them, I bought them a bridesmaid's guide book and gave it to them when i asked them to be in my wedding party. That way I was clear that they would all be in the same place for the wedding. So far they've all been great! (And I asked my super-organized, super-crazy sister to be my MOH to avaiod any mishaps!)
