I think mine will be a 'surprise' but there's very few days that it could realistically happen.. between FSIL's wedding (last week of March), studying for finals, graduation, and studying for and taking the bar, that pretty much leaves about two free weekends in April.

Re: Bridal Shower
I think mine will be next summer, hopefully. I would like it to be a surprise, but I'm not sure if it will be in MD or NY...I may have two. But I would like my main shower to be mostly a surprise, I just want to know the date and have all the other details a secret!

Re: Bridal Shower
Ok ladies... FH and I ate at Giardino's in Douglaston last night. This is owned by Russo's on the Bay. The food is AMAZING.... totally fresh authentic Italian. YUM!
They have 2 party rooms. One room holds up to 40 people (any more and he said it's too tight) and the other room holds up to 30 people. If you have more than 40, they can use the main dining room (specific area given to your group) but then you can ONLY have it on a Saturday from 12 - 4pm.
Sunday's they have brunch in the main dining room, so unfortunately you cant use the area.
The Premier Package is $33 per person not including any soft drinks, beer or wine. The food offered is HUGE, but you then have to add tax and grat. For what I need, it's way too expensive. They also have a Signature Package that begins at $50, but the menu was honestly suited better for a small wedding IMO.
HTH!

Re: Bridal Shower
I do want LI, but since we were there and the food is unbelievable, I figured to ask about their rooms. Maybe it can help another bride

Re: Bridal Shower
I think I am having two, one in Minnesota and one in New York. They will not be a surprise. I know the one in Minnesota will be like in Feb/March. and I am hoping the one in New York will be in March.
I am not sure if I will be involved, I just know that I won't be surprised.

Re: Bridal Shower
At first I thought I didn't want to be surprised but I just told my mom last week I would like to be surprised. I think being surprised will make it more fun. Only thing I asked of her is to make sure I am dressed nice for it- don't want to look gross in pics lol. I think it probably will be next summer but who knows.
