Bridal Shower Atendees
My FH has a lot of cousins. Are you inviting any of the younger cousins to your bridal shower? By younger I mean ages 14-17 I think you're supposed to but I'm not sure ahhh.

I invited all my cousins and they range in age from 25-9. Not all of them came.

we pretty much have all of the females invited to the wedding on the shower list, except for a few of my FH's coworkers and a few of his friend's girlfriends who I don't really know

i just went to one about a month ago and yes all the younger girls from 11-18 were in attendance.
BTW... I hate to sound rude, and this was clearly only my third bridal shower EVER, but are they supposed to be boring? I'm not sure I want to make my guest endure two hours of me opening gifts.
What do you girls think?

My sister had us write 'be a dear and wrap in clear' on her invites so the opening process was quicker. I think showers are boring when you do a full sit down 4 course meal. We are gonna do paninis and salads and things like that so that people can eat when they want and we can go straight into the opening process so it goes quicker and so that everyone can relax and mingle afterwards

I have been to dozens of showers and most were pretty boring lol. There is only so much ooohing and ahhhing you can do over towels and silverware lol. The ones that were less painful were the ones that involved games (because most people are competitive lol) and the ones that did the no wrap/clear wrap to make the opening process a little quicker.

I agree!!! we had a four course meal I guess you could call it at the one I just went to lol... ugggghhhh def requesting that we NOT do that for mine.
Thats such a cute idea i never heard of that. At my sisters three years ago she didnt even open her presents at the place. I mean is that terrible?!? lol I dunno, FH's fam is big on opening presents, I think I might have to give in to some of their traditions.

hahaha okay so I am not the only one. Yeah I mean really 'ohhhh aahhhh what a great melon baller' ....gets so played after a while.
The games at this one were kinda drag also. Also, there was no music AT ALL not even background restaurant music and that kinda of bothered m, lol I know this is not typically a necessary detail of these but when I think party, I think FUN and music and great food and making sure people are having a great time.
I'm thinking about making it late afternoon, evening one just to spice it up. Maybe a bridal cocktail party. I'm over the whole brunch thing.

I was going to not open any gifts, but my FH's family is the same way. At his two cousin's showers in May and July, my FH's aunts made alot of cute gifts that they wanted the girls to open. I understand opening the gifts because there are a few people who give sentimental gifts in addition to a registry gift, and some people really do enjoy watching the opening process. So maybe if you request the clear wrap then it'll go a little quicker haha
