bridal shower drama vent

bridal shower drama vent

so my mom has been a total momzilla with the bridal shower planning

to the point where she says, 'it's not what YOU want, its what I want'

I'm like really? I thought the bridal shower is about the bride?

I have only been involved with the shower from a distance, by sending my MOH(sister) & Mom ideas via email...like if i come across a cute idea or a cute place, etc. other than that everything is a surprise...I told my mom i really wanted a pink, girly shower

she tells me the shower needs to be based off my wedding colors...WTH??!!!!

and she is giving my sis and other BM grief about everything and wants full control of the shower...and to be honest I dont know if I trust my mother with full control...my girls are starting to vent to me here and there saying that my mom is not following through on the ideas I want, etc.

I feel bad for them bc I know they are trying to stick up for me and trying to make sure the day is exactly what Ive always wanted...meanwhile my mother is apparently planning a 'wedding' that suits her taste

ughh...thank you, vent over

I feel like ALL mom are like this. When my first friend got engaged I was so excited with so many ideas. Her mom took total control even goign as far to tell us we shouldn't be spending what we were spending on things.

5 weddings in, now I just sign my check and buy a gift. I don't come up with any ideas.

Too much drama.

im sorry to hear that...maybe you should talk to her again and let her know that you this is something you have always dreamed of and so with that this is your vision

it is not true that the shower should be the colors of your wedding and you should try to explain it in a calmly fashion so she will maybe realize shes being a momzilla

aww Jenni! I am sorry about this!! its such a sucky situation! I would say try talking ot her, but it seems like you already tried and she didn't listen too much..
maybe try going at it a different way?Like maybe tell her that you feel that her being in full control might overwhelm her after a while, and maybe it'd be better if the girls helped out a little more to ease the pressure on her (approaching it in a different way?)

I am sorry hun!!!
