In all of your experiences, who gives the bride her bridal shower? Also, have you ever heard of the bride not opening up her gifts at the shower? Thanks!!

I think technically it is supposed to be the maid of honor who plans the bridal shower, but from my experiences, the mother of the bride is also very involved in this. Most of the time I think they plan together. The bridesmaids are also supposed to help the MOH. This is just what I have seen.
To answer you other question, I have never been to a shower where the bride did not open her gifts.

I think it depends upon the situation. In the past I think that the MOH along with the bridesmaid plan the shower. But recently more often than not (at least of the showers that I have been to), the MOB and MOG plan and pay for the shower.

I have never heard of a bride not opening up her gifts..It is for the bridal party to give the shower not the family..Even though my Aunts are doing mine since there is conflict of interest w/ my moh...

It used to be that the bridal party gives the shower, but the past several showers I've been to (including my own) were given by the bride's mother. But I guess circumstances dictate...

My advice would be to open the gifts at the shower...after all that's what the shower is for and people like seeing the gifts (for the first half hour anyway)!
