Bridal Shower Guest

Not sure what the proper protocol is for invites. My FH groomsmen do I invite their wives. I know them socially from get togethers here and there but I don't really talk to them otherwise. Don't want to make them feel like they have to go nor do I want to offend anyone by not inviting.

Thanks

I wondered the same thing so I asked FH what he wanted me to do...he said to invite them and worst case they dont come. Better safe than sorry...

Just my opinion: I think of it how would I feel getting an invitation in the mail for my fiance's friend's fiance. I would probably be more excited not to get one. Showers are so intimate and when you don't know anyone they can be uncomfortable. I personally would not get offended if I did not get one.

I would definitely invite them. I would feel excited thinking you want them to be a part of it.

i invited my FH groomsman wives but i am very friendly with them. I talk with them alot outside of our get togethers. i think its better to invite and have them say no if they dont want to come.

definitely invite them

they are the wives of people in your BP

we have a couple of girlfriends of GM that are being invited to my shower and i don't know them too well, but i want to give them the option to come if they want to

if FH were a groomsmen, I'd probably feel bad if I weren't invited..you're involving their DH's...no harm in extended invite

I'm not inviting his friend's wife. I see them maybe 3 times a year. (if that) He only has one friend in his party and the rest are family so I think it would be awkward for her to attend not knowing anyone else there.

I would!

I was really offended when I was B-listed for my best guy friend's wife's shower. I think it was an oversight on the bride's family part, and I wasn't that close with his wife at the time but I was PISSED.

We invited our groomsmens wives and gf's. Not many of them came anyway

i would definitely invite them - although not directly, they are still a big part of your special day. let them decide if they want to come.

In my opinion while the bridal shower is all about the bride, I still look at it as being for the bride AND groom. Just because he isn't there playing games or opening gifts, everyone is there for the two of you. I would DEF invite Groomsmen's wives. They are in YOUR bridal party, not just FH's.

I would say to invite them. My FH is a groomsman in his best friend's wedding, and even though I'm not that close with his FW, and they live in Boston, I'd feel a little bit slighted if they didn't invite me to her bridal shower. My mom has already made it clear that she plans on inviting all of the ladies that are invited to the wedding, and I don't have a say in that, so whatevs. I obv won't be offended if people reply 'no' and don't send a gift, especially if they aren't close to me. I think it's just hard to draw lines and invite some people and not others, especially if someone who is invited is related to someone who isn't.

Thanks everyone! My plan was to invite them, just didn't want them to feel forced or uncomfortable! I told FH that if any of the guys say anything to just tell them its optional and that I wouldn't be upset or anything!

I was wondering the same thing... but about FMIL's 20 female friends I have a feeling she will want to invite them but honestly I wouldn't even be able to pick them out of a crowd and I will feel weird with them at my shower.
